Do you stand firm in your shoes and are you looking for a workplace where every day is different? With us, there are no fixed checklists to be ticked off; we ask employees to respond to the situation. In addition to providing (sometimes heavy) care, we find it important that you utilize your other skills and that you can respond well to the wishes of the NAH client. If you are creative, musical, social, and know how to use this for our NAH clients, we would love to meet you.
Brain injury can happen to anyone, at any age. The severity of the brain injury and the age therefore vary with us. What is consistent is that all our residents experience a break in their life path. Life is different; there was a life before the brain injury and now there is another (new) life. Our residents must learn to deal with this. We help them with this, so that our residents experience a day that is as pleasant as possible and where the most has been achieved. That can be in big things, but often it is in the small things, such as a small step forward or experiencing growth in self-confidence.
Who are we
Nolenshaghe is a modern residential and treatment center that offers possibilities for long-term living, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Our location, situated behind the de Savornin Lohmanplein shopping center, specializes in treatment and care for clients with non-acquired brain injury (NAH). The care we provide is small-scale. We offer this care in a home-like environment and the home situation is approached as much as possible.
Why are we special
Clients with NAH who come to live with us can also continue to live with us. Even if a resident has a need for very intensive care. That makes us special. We provide structure and regularity using the empathic-directive approach. We work as a team and support one another. We know how to handle behavioral problems well. We always deliver customized care and are creative in finding solutions.
Every day we commit ourselves to the client and delve into his or her background. How was someone in the past, what hobbies or interests did that person have before the brain injury? You must be able to respond to this creatively, but also to the moments that are coming. At Nolenshaghe, we find this very important, so that our residents can get the best out of their day. A small example: a client is a train enthusiast; he now has his own model train set. "Together we make it possible" is our motto.
