This is what you will be doing as a Technical Work Preparer - Train Maintenance
What you'll do
The Rolling Stock Control Center (MBN) ensures that our rolling stock is safe and available for deployment. As a work preparer at the MBN, you make work orders complete and executable, so that mechanics and planners can get to work immediately. You ensure clear work packages and coordinate resources and planning with all stakeholders.
- Linking work orders to the correct process: service, repair, or maintenance.
- Determining and recording which resources are needed: mechanics, required competencies, tools, and means of transport.
- Bundling work orders for planned and unplanned work based on information from the planner and helpdesk.
- Coordinating with the long-term planner regarding the number of maintenance paths and availability.
- Checking conditions for technical release so that rolling stock can be deployed safely.

Where you will work
You will work at the Rolling Stock Control Center Netherlands (MBN) in Utrecht, at the Operational Control Center Rail (OCCR). The MBN, sometimes compared to an ANWB service, is part of Maintenance & Service of NS Operation and monitors the balance between the timetable and maintenance. More than sixty colleagues work there; per shift, you work with an operational team leader, a senior helpdesk employee, two helpdesk employees, and two planners. As a work preparer, you coordinate assignments with supply chain partners such as LBC, OB, SB, technical personnel, the fault organization, the cleaning company, and specialist teams.
The work is 24/7 and you will work early, late, and night shifts (07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, and 23:00-07:00).
At NS, we find diversity and inclusion important; it makes working together more fun and often improves the result. Therefore, your background or religious beliefs do not matter: we are primarily curious about your vision on the position of technical work preparer MBN.
