Work-study program Work Preparer

• You have (nearly) completed an MBO level 3 or 4 education, for example in Civil Engineering, Construction Middle Management, SMART Building, or another technical education. Or an HBO education in a technical or real estate direction (the HBO Civil Engineering program does not align with this work-study program; perhaps our traineeship would suit you better)

• You have a maximum of 2 years of work experience within the construction sector or another technical environment.

• You like to take initiative, get energy from working together with colleagues and fellow students, and want to continue developing yourself.

• The work preparation program starts on September 1, 2026. It is possible to start earlier.

• The salary for this position is between € 2,943 and € 4,231 gross per month (based on 40 hours), excluding 8% holiday allowance.

• On top of the salary comes a fixed amount for the Sustainable Employability Budget for things that contribute to staying healthy and motivated (2.3% according to CAO Bouw & Infra).

• 43 leave days according to the CAO Bouw & Infra. Of these days, 13 are paid out into your individual budget; you can choose to buy these days back.

• A laptop and a smartphone.

• Excellent secondary employment conditions such as standard insurance for all employee risks, pension schemes, an extra supplement in case of disability, and a contribution towards trade union membership.

• You have the choice between an electric lease car or a mobility budget.

Then you now have the chance to start at Dura Vermeer in a role as a work preparer combined with a work-study program at MBO level in which you bring your professional knowledge to a higher level!

This will be your job
As a junior work preparer at Dura Vermeer, you will step into a unique work-study program where you gain work experience as a work preparer in the Utrecht region. You will get the chance to be part of a project team involved in the new construction or renovation of large and complex projects. Of course, you won't be thrown into the deep end and you will receive good guidance from a senior work preparer or vocational coach. And in this work-study program, you will receive subject-specific training one day a month from external and internal trainers who will take you from A to Z into the world of work preparation. This gives you the chance to continue developing yourself and to lift your knowledge and skills to a higher level.

Naturally, you won't do this alone! In addition to good guidance from a professional in the field, you will also be paired with a mentor within Dura Vermeer whom you can turn to for all your questions and some coaching. You will also be part of a group of approximately 5 to 10 fellow participants of the work-study program from all over the country who are following the same program as you and whom you will therefore meet weekly during training and peer review moments.

You will work from the role of work preparer combined with a work-study program in which you learn the trade and bring your professional knowledge to an even higher level.

This is where you belong
At Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht we work with about 100 colleagues on projects in Central Netherlands. From our office in Utrecht Leidsche Rijn and from the construction sites, we realize area and real estate development, residential construction, civil engineering, renovation, and transformation — from new construction to improving and renewing existing real estate. We love to get stuck in: development, preparation, and execution work closely together, with short lines of communication and a practical approach.
