What will my work as an Information Security Officer look like?

As an Information Security Officer, you ensure that information security does not get stuck in policy and plans, but is actually applied in practice. You analyze risks, translate them into concrete measures, and organize the execution within the organization or via suppliers.

You operate at the intersection of IT, compliance, processes, and risk management. In addition, you perform tasks yourself, coordinate improvement actions, and monitor that agreements are demonstrably met.

Your duties include

• Translating risks, policy, and laws and regulations into concrete security measures;

• Implementing and monitoring information security measures within systems, processes, and projects;

• Coordinating security incidents and following up on improvement actions;

• Advising on IT projects, application changes, supplier relationships, and AI initiatives;

• Supporting audits, customer inquiries, and compliance processes;

• Increasing security awareness through communication, training, and guidance of colleagues.

When is the position of Information Security Officer right for me?

You feel at home in a role in which you switch between technology, processes, risks, and people. You are analytically strong, but above all also practically minded and ensure that improvements are actually realized.

You recognize yourself in:

• HBO or WO working and thinking level, preferably in Information Science, IT, Information Management, Business Administration, or similar;

• Experience with information security, IT risk management, governance, compliance, or security operations;

• Experience with implementing and safeguarding security measures;

• Knowledge of laws and regulations such as GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS2/Cybersecurity Act, and the AI Act;

• Experience with collaborating with and managing suppliers;

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or ISO 27001 are a plus.

You will work within Functional Management & ICT in Zwolle, where you will work together with functional managers, application specialists, and IT professionals, each with their own expertise. This team is part of the staff organization of Countus, which supports the 24 branches and various expertise teams within the organization.

Within Functional Management & ICT, you will work in a team of approximately 10 colleagues. Together, you ensure that employees can make optimal use of systems, applications, and digital processes.
