About us
Within Maastricht UMC+, much revolves around innovation in care, research, education, and training. Our Imaging department plays a crucial role in this. The department originated from a successful integration of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology and offers a professional, engaged, and collegial working atmosphere.
In our department, you are part of an experienced and ambitious team. Interdisciplinary collaboration is central. We are a leading clinical expertise center for both 2nd and 3rd-line care. Additionally, there are many developments in care outside the hospital (e.g., Beweeghuis care network), in which diagnostic imaging is an important link.
State-of-the-art equipment
Our Imaging department possesses the most modern equipment, including multiple MSK dedicated ultrasound systems. We have four CT scanners with dual-source technology, including advanced photon-counting CT. Additionally, we utilize four MRI systems, ranging from 1.5T to 3T, with which we offer broad diagnostic possibilities.
Furthermore, our department possesses 2 SPECT-CT scanners, an advanced digital PET-CT, and a hybrid PET-MRI system.
Field of work
Within the MSK domain, we focus on, among other things, ultrasound, non-invasive interventions, oncology (soft tissue tumor expertise center), specialist orthopedics (including spine surgery and infection and revision surgery), rheumatology, and traumatology (level 1 trauma center). The growing demand for MSK diagnostics from primary and secondary care also offers plenty of opportunities within a rapidly changing healthcare landscape.
