Do you already have experience as a veterinarian and do you want to further develop your knowledge in a modern clinic where you work together with experienced colleagues? At AniCura Dierenkliniek Rotterdam, you will get the space to work independently, deepen your professional expertise, and offer the best care to our patients together with a dedicated team.
For our team, we are looking for an experienced small animal veterinarian for 32 hours per week. Someone who enjoys the profession, likes to share knowledge, and finds it important to continue growing together with colleagues.
As a veterinarian at AniCura Dierenkliniek Rotterdam, you combine independence with collaboration. You conduct consultation hours, perform surgeries, and supervise patients throughout their treatment. In doing so, you get the space to utilize and further expand your own knowledge and experience.
Rotterdam is a city that never stands still. That also applies to our clinic! With five modern locations above the Maas and almost 50 colleagues, we offer high-quality veterinary medicine in a personal and collegial working environment.
You will join a team of 19 veterinarians, each with their own knowledge and experience. Approximately half of our veterinarians have their own expertise, but you are also very welcome as an all-round veterinarian.
We work closely together, discuss patients with each other, and actively share our knowledge. Thanks to our short lines of communication and open culture, you can always consult with colleagues and arrive at the best treatment plan together. The fact that our collaboration works well is also evident from the Award for best teamwork that we won this year!
Our facilities also help you get the most out of your profession. At our main location in Ommoord, we have, among other things:
A CT scan and digital X-ray
Ultrasound and endoscopy
Modern laboratory equipment
Gas anesthesia
This way, you have both the means and the colleagues to further develop yourself and deliver high-quality care.
Conducting consultation hours and preparing treatment plans.
Performing routine surgeries.
Examining and treating patients with diverse care needs.
Consulting with colleagues about complex cases and treatment options.
Maintaining good contact with pet owners and clearly explaining diagnoses and treatments.
Twice a week, we discuss complex patients during a joint online meeting. This way, you benefit from the expertise within the team and continue to learn from each other.
You will work across different locations on a rotating basis. This provides variety in your work and the opportunity to work with different colleagues.
We are looking for a veterinarian who practices the profession with pleasure, takes responsibility, and likes to be part of a team in which we help each other further.
You:
Have some work experience as a small animal veterinarian and can independently run consultation hours and perform routine surgeries.
Have a good command of the Dutch language, so that you can communicate independently and clearly with pet owners and colleagues.
Communicate pleasantly and carefully and know how to explain medical information understandably.
Like to work together, are open to feedback, and share your knowledge with colleagues.
Are curious and motivated to continue developing your professional expertise.
Are willing to participate in the weekend roster. Night shifts are not part of this position.
Are you interested in a specific subfield of veterinary medicine? We would be very happy about that! Who knows, we might even learn something from you. However, if you would rather focus on general veterinary medicine, you are also very welcome. All-round working veterinarians are always needed within our team.
At AniCura Dierenkliniek Rotterdam, you get the chance to work in a clinic where professional veterinary medicine and a pleasant working atmosphere go hand in hand.
You can count on:
An expert and dedicated team: you work together with 19 veterinarians and can easily consult about patients and treatment plans.
Modern facilities: you have access to extensive diagnostic possibilities and good equipment.
Space to grow: we encourage internal and external training and are happy to think along with your professional ambitions.
A good start and guidance: even with some work experience, you can count on guidance and coaching where necessary.
Varied work: you work at different locations and see diverse patients and cases.
Good employment conditions: you receive a market-conform salary and benefit from, among other things, a travel allowance per kilometer driven and the possibility to purchase extra vacation days.
A pleasant working atmosphere: we work hard, help each other, and also make time for socializing.
You start the day at our main location in Ommoord with a joint daily start. Together with your colleagues, you discuss the schedule and divide the tasks.
After that, you hold consultation hours at our Cat Friendly clinic and check hospitalized patients. Later in the day, you perform an ultrasound examination together with an experienced veterinary nurse. In between, you consult with colleagues about a patient who might need to be operated on later that same afternoon. Together, you determine the best treatment plan.
At the end of the afternoon, you call pet owners back and carefully hand over specifics to the evening shift. And of course, there is also room for a joke in between or a pleasant moment with colleagues. Because we find it important that you not only practice your profession with pleasure, but also go to your work with pleasure.
Can you see yourself working at AniCura Dierenkliniek Rotterdam? And are you curious about how we won the Award for best teamwork this year? You are very welcome to come and meet us without obligation and discover for yourself over a cup of coffee what makes our team so special!
