You make it happen. For newborns, toddlers, teenagers, and their families. As a Pediatric Intensive Care nurse or High Care nurse in training, you support our young patients through every step of their recovery.
You choose challenge, intensive collaboration, and personal growth. On our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), you are never alone: you are part of a close-knit team that works together to do everything possible to make a difference.
What you do?
You provide high-quality, compassionate care to children and their parents, always with an eye for their well-being and their strength.
You work closely with doctors, nurses, and specialists to provide the best care.
You support parents during a period that asks a lot of them.
You learn, develop, and grow. Every single day.
Working at the PICU of Maastricht UMC+ means working in an environment where knowledge, passion, and innovation come together. Our PICU provides intensive care to children from 1 week to 18 years old, with complex conditions affecting one or more vital functions. All medical disciplines are represented. Additionally, we manage the transport of ICU-dependent children within the region.
You work in an environment with 8 beds, divided into isolation boxes, two-person, and four-person rooms. Within the MosaKids Children's Hospital, you will receive plenty of opportunities to grow: we will train you during working hours to become a Pediatric ICU nurse or High Care Pediatric nurse. Together, we strive for the very best pediatric care. And for your future.
You have a nursing diploma recognized in the Netherlands or Belgium.
You have experience in pediatric care or as an ICU nurse and want to further specialize.
Do you not yet have a specialization, but do have the drive to become a Pediatric ICU or High Care Pediatric nurse? Then we offer you the chance to make your dream come true.
Together, we determine a training route that suits you. Custom-made!
Are you resilient, do you work from the heart, and are you ready to grow? Then we are for you!
To start successfully in this role, it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language (minimum B2 level) due to contact with, among others, patients and colleagues. Additionally, it is a requirement that you are permitted to work in the Netherlands (EU/EEA nationality or a valid work permit).
Based on your entry level, you will receive a proposal that aligns with your situation.
You will start with a temporary employment contract for the duration of the training (on average 24-36 hours per week).
Do you successfully complete your training? Then a 1-year employment contract awaits you, with a view to permanent employment.
You work irregular shifts: evenings, nights, weekends, holidays. Transport and on-call shifts are also included, because care never stops.
At MUMC+, you don't just choose a job, you choose an environment in which you can grow, learn, and get the best out of yourself. That includes:

A good collective labor agreement (cao umc) and attractive supplementary schemes.
Flexible employment conditions (cao à la carte), favorable insurance, and sports schemes.
