Resident (not in training) Cardiology

Our Cardiology department consists of a dedicated team of 38 cardiologists, 21 residents and

24 researchers. We offer highly complex, top-tier academic care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and valvular heart disease. We work closely with Zuyderland and VieCuri regarding cardiological chain care, research, and cardiology training. We also perform interventions together for arrhythmias, the electrical treatment of heart failure, and ICD care. Together with Zuyderland, we provide interventional cardiology within a joint PCI center.

The Cardiology department, together with the departments of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery, forms part of the Heart+Vascular Center of the Maastricht UMC+. With more than 600 employees, the Heart+Vascular Center provides the best possible care for heart and vascular diseases 24 hours a day. Patient care goes hand in hand with high-quality research and education. Our staff is excellently trained and we offer the latest medical treatments based on the latest scientific insights. This latter is realized through close cooperation with the internationally leading research institute CARIM (Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht).

To start successfully in this role, it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language (minimum B2 level) due to contact with, among others, patients and colleagues. Additionally, it is a requirement that you are permitted to work in the Netherlands (EU/EEA nationality or a valid work permit).

Depending on education and experience, the salary is at least € 4,642,- and at most € 6,393,- gross per month for a full-time position.
This amount excludes holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% of your gross annual salary.
During the employment conditions interview, a suitable salary offer will be made, depending on the position.

This concerns a temporary employment contract of 1 year for an average of 46 hours per week in accordance with article 2.4.2 Cao umc.
It is expected that you will perform irregular shifts during evening, night, and weekend hours and public holidays.
