Optician in training to become a TOA

• You are a qualified optician and you have at least 5 years of recent work experience as an optician within optics or eye care

• You work accurately, independently, and enjoy collaborating in a team

• You are patient-oriented and have strong communication skills

• You are interested in medical eye care and would like to further develop towards becoming a TOA

• Salary based on knowledge, educational background and work experience between €2,867 and €4,346 gross per month (FWG40). With a promotion to (FWG 45) after obtaining the TOA diploma, up to a maximum of €4,770 gross per month, based on 40 hours in accordance with the ZKN collective labor agreement

• An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and holiday allowance of 8.33%

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer with a maximum of 80 km (one way). Do you travel by public transport? Then we reimburse these costs fully

• A fixed-term contract with a view to permanent employment

• With full-time employment, you receive 160 vacation hours and no less than 72 extra PLB hours per calendar year. The PLB hour budget has no expiration period

Are you an experienced, qualified optician with at least 5 years of work experience and do you want to further apply your knowledge and experience within specialist eye care? Then this might be your next step! For our clinic in Amersfoort, we are looking for an experienced optician who wants to further develop into a Technical Ophthalmic Assistant (TOA). You will start as an optician within our eye clinic and will have the opportunity to follow the training to become a TOA in the short term. This allows you to combine your experience from optics with specialist eye care and continue building your future within ophthalmology.

As an optician, you are an important point of contact for our patients. You ensure a warm welcome, put patients at ease, and assist with various eye measurements and examinations. Thanks to your expertise and service-oriented attitude, you make a valuable contribution to a pleasant patient experience and high-quality eye care.

• Performing eye measurements: You independently perform eye measurements and checks and assist with additional examinations within the clinic.

• Guiding patients: You inform and guide patients during their visit and provide explanations about examinations, glasses, and any follow-up steps.

• Supporting specialists: You work closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and TOAs to deliver the best care.

• Administrative tasks: You process patient data carefully and assist with administrative handling.

• Thinking along about improvement: You actively participate in thinking about optimizing work processes and improving the patient experience.

• Varied activities: Your activities differ per part of the day, providing you with a lot of variety in your work and making you broadly deployable within the clinic.

• You are available for 24-40 hours per week

• You are available on Fridays at the very least. The other working days are in consultation
  Your working hours are between 08:30 and 17:00
