The role

In short

  • 16 hours per week for 10 weeks
  • €17,- per hour
  • You will investigate whether the drawings of a chemical plant match the data in SAP
  • We are looking for an analytical technical student who works accurately, dares to ask questions, and enjoys working with data
  • Entirely on-site in Dordrecht

What will you do?

Are you a technical student who loves finding out why things are incorrect, and do you want to gain experience in the process industry alongside your studies? Then this is a great opportunity for you to grow.

Our client is an international chemical company with a large production site in Dordrecht. The site consists of five plants, and for each installation, P&IDs (process diagrams including all piping, equipment, and instrumentation) are available. These P&IDs show the as-built situation of the plant. Additionally, all assets are in SAP. You would expect these two sources to tell exactly the same story, but in practice, that is often not the case. Over the years, changes have not been implemented consistently everywhere. Furthermore, Management of Change (MOC) processes are not always fully secured, tagging and structure differ between the systems, and there is no uniform data standard. The result is uncertainty regarding data quality and limited traceability of assets. This is difficult for maintenance, safety, and future improvement projects.

To understand the scale of the problem, the client is starting a pilot. You will be the project employee mapping the gap between the P&IDs and SAP. You will receive five P&IDs per plant to work with and will get started with:

  • Inventorying all relevant P&IDs
  • Analyzing discrepancies and data quality by comparing the data on the drawings with the data in SAP
  • Developing implementation scenarios to structurally address the identified discrepancies

Your results will provide insight into the extent of the problem and a classification of the discrepancies. It will also form the basis for a cost estimate and provide input for the implementation strategy. Therefore, your work directly determines how the client proceeds with improving the data.

So, are you analytical, accurate, and do you really want to see how a chemical plant works behind the scenes? Then apply via the button at the top of this vacancy.

Where will you work?

You will be working at an international chemical company with production sites all over the world. The Dordrecht location is a large industrial site where high-quality chemical products are manufactured in five plants. Safety, reliability, and good asset management are of great importance here.

You will be working within the department responsible for the asset and data quality of the plant.

At IVY Global, a dynamic project agency for young technical talent, your development is central. You will work for various clients, with IVY providing you with the necessary support. A great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and develop yourself during your studies. At IVY, it is not just about work; besides earning money, it is also important to learn, to develop, and to have a good time. Finished with your studies? Even then, we can help advance your career together; for example, you can transition from your side job into a starter position.
