The role

Work as a medior or senior site manager at De Nieuwe Tuin in Utrecht: a challenging renovation and transformation project in the heart of the station area. You take charge of the construction site, manage the team and our construction partners, and ensure that safety, planning, quality, and execution come together

In the heart of Utrecht's station area, we are working on De Nieuwe Tuin: the redevelopment of a striking existing building. A complex renovation and transformation project where many disciplines, construction partners, and activities converge. And that is exactly where we need you as a medior or senior site manager.

Whether you are ready to take on more responsibility as a medior, or you already bring extensive experience with complex construction projects as a senior: at De Nieuwe Tuin, you get the space to demonstrate your craftsmanship.

Together, we ensure that De Nieuwe Tuin becomes a reality, step by step.

What you'll do

As a site manager, you are found on the construction site daily, ensuring that plans are actually realized. You organize and coordinate the activities, manage site employees and construction partners, and monitor progress, safety, planning, and quality. In doing so, you maintain an overview, even when multiple activities take place simultaneously and the situation on the construction site changes.

You are constantly looking ahead. What is scheduled for the coming weeks? Is the work preparation completed on time? Can our construction partners continue, and do the various activities align well? You identify bottlenecks early and coordinate with the project manager, work preparation, and other specialists within the project team.

Particularly with an existing building, you will encounter situations during execution that you cannot always fully predict from the drawing board. This requires structural insight, flexibility, and the ability to quickly arrive at a practical solution. In doing so, you keep the end result in mind and ensure that the work outside can continue.

But for you, a well-organized project is not just about schedules and construction techniques. You have an eye for the people you work with. You provide clear direction, make clear agreements, and ensure pleasant cooperation on the construction site. Even when pressure increases, you keep a cool head and your team knows what is expected of them.

This is what you bring

First and foremost: Safety is always your top priority! Because of this, you always have visibility into all ongoing matters taking place on your construction site. Consequently, you are very alert and, in the event of problems, you act professionally and accurately and think in solutions.

-An MBO education in Civil Engineering or similar;

-You have experience as an independent site manager within new construction or renovation projects;

-You know how to motivate your team with your persuasiveness and enthusiasm to realize a successful project within the established deadlines and performance standards;

-You are digitally skilled; correctly recording the progress of the project administratively in our automated system is no problem at all for you;

-You are highly independent, cost-conscious, and you maintain an overview of the quality and quantity of your responsibilities within the project. You therefore set high standards for the quality of your work;

These requirements show the direction of the profile we are looking for in this position. Should you not recognize yourself in all the requirements, but you do think this is the position for you? Then we would love to have a conversation with you.

Since 1855, our independence and long-term continuity have formed the basis of our strategy. With a turnover of approximately € 1.8 billion and over 3,000 employees, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. Together, we realize beautiful projects. Iconic, and sometimes also everyday projects with which we offer new answers to societal issues. With which we guarantee the best solutions for tomorrow and make a difference for the Netherlands, especially in the long term.

We have strong ambitions - and to achieve them, we can only rely on our people. As a top employer, we work hard to ensure that you choose Dura Vermeer again every single day. That you are just as proud of what we make as we are. That everyone who works with us is happy. That you can be yourself with us, feel safe, and speak your mind. And that you can reach your full potential. And get the best out of yourself.

At Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht, we are at the beginning of a new chapter. Where for years we were known as a strong renovation/transformation specialist, since the beginning of this year we have grown into a full-fledged Construction and Real Estate organization. In addition to renovation and transformation, we now also realize new construction projects in residential and non-residential construction, and we are taking the next step towards our own area and real estate development.

That means you will join an organization that is constantly in motion. With more than 100 colleagues, we are not only building sustainable homes, utility projects, and living environments, but also the future of our own organization. The lines are short, the ambitions are great, and the opportunities to help build new working methods, teams, and projects are plentiful.

Here you get the space to make an impact. Not from the sidelines, but right in the middle of a fresh organization that is further developing itself and in which entrepreneurship, collaboration, and ownership are central. Together we build projects we are proud of and an organization that is ready for the future.
