The role

Do you want to be involved at the front end in winning non-residential construction projects and, after the award, take control towards realization? At Dura Vermeer, you will join an ambitious and growing development organization where the future is being actively built. As a project manager for preparation in non-residential construction, you will contribute your thoughts on constructability, planning, and risks during tenders. After the award, you will take the helm and guide projects from design and preparation to successful execution.

What you'll do

As a project manager for preparation in non-residential construction at Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Utrecht, you play a key role in the transition from tender to realization. You are involved in new non-residential construction projects at an early stage and work closely with the tender manager during the tender phase. Using your technical expertise, you contribute your thoughts on constructability, phasing, construction methodologies, risks, planning, and the optimal setup of the project.

This means you are daily engaged in the preparation and management of our new construction projects. You work closely with the project developer to continuously search for the best and most innovative product-market combinations. This means that you lead the process of further development and preparation, where you are responsible for managing the preparation team. Your role is important to successfully prepare the project and to transfer it smoothly to the realization phase.

At Dura Vermeer, we win projects by developing smart, sustainable, and distinctive solutions. Think of innovative construction methods, efficient processes, modern contract forms, and sustainable choices that truly add value for our clients and end users. It is precisely in those considerations that you make the difference.

After the award, you take control. You translate ambitious plans into a carefully prepared and executable project and ensure that all involved disciplines are at the table at the right time.

You work intensively with project developers, tender managers, architects, advisors, and construction colleagues. In doing so, you are responsible for the preparation of complex non-residential construction projects and manage planning, risks, costs, quality, and technical elaboration. You oversee the whole, connect interests, and ensure that a project is not only won but can also be successfully realized.

What makes this function extra special is the environment you will enter. You join a growing organization within Dura Vermeer that is in full development. Because of this, you get plenty of room to contribute your thoughts on processes, working methods, and the further organization of the team. An ideal step for an entrepreneurial professional who wants to make an impact not only on projects but also wants to contribute to the development of a new and ambitious club.

In their own words

About the company & team

Dura Vermeer is a family business. An independent construction company active in residential construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, and technology in the Netherlands. Since 1855, our independence and long-term continuity have formed the basis of our strategy. With a turnover of approximately € 1.8 billion and over 3,000 employees, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. Together, we realize beautiful projects. Iconic, and sometimes also everyday projects with which we offer new answers to societal issues. With which we guarantee the best solutions for tomorrow and make a difference for the Netherlands, especially in the long term.

We have strong ambitions, and to achieve them, we can only rely on our people. As a top employer, we therefore work hard to ensure that you choose Dura Vermeer again every single day. That you are just as proud of what we make as we are. That everyone who works with us is happy. That you can be yourself with us, feel safe, and speak your mind. And that you can reach your full potential. And get the best out of yourself.

At Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Utrecht, we are at the beginning of a new chapter. Where for years we were known as a strong renovation/transformation specialist, since the beginning of this year we have grown into a full-fledged Construction and Real Estate organization. In addition to renovation and transformation, we now also realize new construction projects in residential and non-residential construction, and we are taking the next step towards our own area and real estate development.

That means you will join an organization that is constantly in motion. With more than 100 colleagues, we are not only building sustainable homes, utility projects, and living environments, but also the future of our own organization. The lines are short, the ambitions are great, and the opportunities to help build new working methods, teams, and projects are plentiful.

Here, you get the space to make an impact. Not from the sidelines, but in the middle of a fresh organization that is further developing itself and in which entrepreneurship, collaboration, and ownership are central. Together we build projects we are proud of and an organization that is ready for the future.
