The role
You provide direction to projects. From tender to execution.
Are you at home in the infrastructure sector and do you know how to translate asset management into well-organized projects? As a portfolio manager at Dura Vermeer Assetmanagement, you are responsible for multiple maintenance projects in the Eastern Netherlands. You lead some projects yourself; for others, you provide direction to the project manager and the team. In addition, you work on new assignments together with our regional companies North-East and South-East. After an award, you ensure that those projects get off to a good start.
What you'll do
You are responsible for the performance of your portfolio of infrastructure maintenance projects. You manage based on safety, quality, contractual agreements, progress, and financial results. You know the projects, know what is happening, and intervene when necessary.
How you fulfill that responsibility differs per project. For a portion of the projects, you fulfill the role of project manager yourself and manage the daily organization. For other projects, that role lies with a project manager. There, you monitor the main lines, discuss progress and risks, and help the team with difficult choices. You know when you can provide space and when your involvement is needed.
Your knowledge of asset management forms an important basis for this. You translate the goals of clients into an appropriate maintenance approach and make substantiated trade-offs between performance, risks, and costs over the lifecycle of assets. You involve the right specialists and ensure that their advice is practically applicable within the contracts. What works well on one project, you also help to advance on other projects.
In addition to ongoing projects, you work on new assignments. Together with the regional companies North-East and South-East, you participate in tender teams. You contribute knowledge of asset management and practical execution and think along about the maintenance strategy, project organization, costs, and risks. In this way, you help develop a proposal that is convincing and feasible.
After an award, you are responsible for the mobilization: you organize the transition from tender to execution. You ensure that the team, the division of tasks, the planning, and the work processes are in order and that agreements with partners and the client are clear. You translate the promises from the proposal into a concrete approach that the project team can get to work with.
In all of this, you connect clients, project teams, specialists, and colleagues from the region. You build sustainable relationships, state expectations clearly, and ensure that agreements are met.
