The role

As a Tender Manager, you are the driving force behind our most complex and integral civil engineering tenders – from ecoducts and wastewater systems to high-voltage routes and new construction projects in industry. We play a prominent role in the energy transition through long-term collaboration with TenneT and Alliander. Additionally, we work for provinces, the G40 municipalities, and private clients. Alongside technical and substantive knowledge, the common thread is always ‘Predictable Organizing’.

You take charge of the entire tender process: you dive into the client's request, determine a smart and distinctive course, and together with your project team, translate this into a convincing and winning plan of approach. We have a national focus where tender teams are formed based on necessary expertise on one hand, but where travel distance and your own preferences are also taken into account. The scale of the projects lies between 5 and 100 million, and we are always actively looking for projects in which we tackle the challenge together with the client. These are construction teams, multi-year collaborations, and other forms in which cooperation forms an important part of the success.

Additionally, you play an active role in further developing a future-proof Tender Management and Procurement department. You follow (market) developments closely and think strategically about the direction of our project portfolio, by making well-considered choices together with your fellow Tender Managers regarding the projects we focus on as an organization. Both in the short and long term.

What you'll do

  • You are responsible for the full tender process: from analyzing the client's request and determining the strategy to the submission of the bid and the smooth handover to the execution team.
  • You translate the client's needs into a smart strategy that leads to a complete and distinctive bid – on time, within budget, and with a strong chance of being awarded.
  • You lead and motivate a multidisciplinary project team and ensure focus, collaboration, and energy in the tender process;
  • You present the tender strategy to the management team and the group board, including opportunities, risks, and contractual impact (both at the beginning and the end of the tender process);
  • You actively follow market developments and anticipate upcoming tenders and client needs;
  • You contribute to the development of the Tender Management and Procurement department and are given the space to help build the strategy, structure, and the right composition of the team.

Functie-eisen

You are a natural leader with strong communication skills: you know how to motivate your team and steer towards results together. With your commercial insight, you can not only develop a plan but also convey it convincingly – internally and towards the client. Thanks to your client-oriented attitude and analytical ability, you know how to quickly grasp the core of a request and translate it into a distinctive strategy. You work in a structured manner, maintain an overview of the process, and are decisive. Furthermore, you are flexible and resilient – you know that not every tender is won, but you regroup yourself and the team with new energy. And you never lose sight of practice: you actively maintain contact with execution to ensure that plans are truly feasible.

Furthermore, you have:
