The role

Are you a financially strong professional who looks beyond figures and reports? Do you get energy from delving into complex issues, improving processes, and translating financial insights into concrete actions? As a Business Controller at Dura Vermeer, you are the right hand of the Finance Manager. You combine financial responsibility with entrepreneurship, advice, and innovation. You bring structure, see opportunities, and take initiative to move Dura Vermeer one step further every day.

What you'll do

As a business controller, you are co-responsible for the financial reports and analyses of Dura Vermeer Landelijke Projecten (LP). You monitor the coherence between project results, overhead costs, occupancy, and cost coverage. In doing so, you look at, among other things, the development of operations, overhead costs, and rates. You independently prepare overviews and analyses, discuss the outcomes with stakeholders, and make it clear where adjustments are needed. In this, you work closely with the Finance Manager and the Financial Controller, forming an important link between the financial figures and daily operations.

But your role goes beyond reporting and analyzing. You identify opportunities for improvement, tackle complex issues, and take the responsibility to actually implement improvements. You pick up organization-wide themes, optimize financial processes, and help the organization work smarter and more efficiently. Think, for example, of improving the way overhead costs are generated and allocated, strengthening cost leadership, and making the connection between hours, occupancy, and financial results. You dare to address colleagues, ask critical questions, and know how to bring people along in changes.

You also look explicitly at the possibilities of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. You investigate how repetitive tasks can be organized more intelligently, how available data can be better utilized, and how new insights can contribute to better decision-making. You do not wait for someone else to come up with a solution, but instead take initiative, experiment, and organize improvements. In doing so, you work intensively with: department managers, project controllers, and management. You report to the Finance Manager and are given the space to make an impact on the development of Dura Vermeer through your expertise and entrepreneurship.

Requirements

Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can notice that. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, utility construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the basis for this.

With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, it is not about those figures for us. It is about people. About colleagues working together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close to home – and contributing to solutions for societal issues.

Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with committed people. That is why we invest in good employer ship and a work environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.
