The role

What you'll do

From technician to service planner: no more heavy lifting, but still working with technology?

As a technician, you have installed countless installations and resolved faults on construction sites. Perhaps you notice that the physical work is becoming heavier after all these years, you want to be around colleagues more often, or you are simply ready for something else. A new step in which you do more with your technical knowledge and have to do less heavy lifting yourself.

As a Service Planner, you remain involved in installations and construction projects. Only your role shifts from executing to preparing. You still see the result of your work. For example, when an installation is safely commissioned or when a technician can work efficiently thanks to your preparation and advice. Precisely because you know how everything works, you understand what a technician needs. In other words: your experience ensures the right preparation.

This will be your job

In Haaften, you work with a friendly team that works closely with the technicians and project teams on the construction site. You consult with technicians, project teams, the BPI advisory department, and suppliers, and translate everything into what the project needs. In this way, you ensure that your fellow technicians can head out with the right materials, drawings, and instructions.

And of course, not everything goes according to plan. An unexpected fault or change can occur in between, and that is exactly what makes the work engaging. Additionally, you assess whether installations comply with the applicable standards (NEN 1010 and NEN 3140) and check measurement reports of completed work.

Requirements

Dura Vermeer is an independent family business. And you can notice that. In how we work together, look out for one another, and build with an eye for future generations. Since 1855, we have been building the Netherlands, in residential construction, utility construction, infrastructure, and technology. Our independence and long-term vision form the basis for this.

With a turnover of € 2.6 billion and over 3,700 colleagues, we belong to the top of the Dutch construction sector. But ultimately, for us, it is not about those figures. It is about people. About colleagues working together on projects you can be proud of – iconic and close by – and contributing to solutions for societal issues.

Our ambitions are great. And we only achieve them with engaged people. That is why we invest in good employer leadership and a working environment in which you feel at home. Where you can be yourself, feel safe, and speak up. So that you get the best out of yourself and make more together with us.

Dura Vermeer Materieel

On the construction site, you must be able to rely on each other. On your colleagues, on your equipment, and on your employer. That is why at Dura Vermeer Materieel, you are given the space to take responsibility, think along, and speak up if something can be done better or more safely. You work together with colleagues who are there for one another and know that your supervisor has your back. And whether you are a technician, planner, operator, safety expert, or construction site specialist: no project gets off the ground without people like you. Because no matter how smart equipment, AI, and robotics become, ultimately our professionals make the difference.
