The role

Do you, as a estimator or work preparer, look beyond figures and schedules? And do you get energy from renovation, transformation, and sustainability? Then we have a great challenge for you in Hengelo.

At Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Hengelo, we believe that successful renovation and sustainability projects begin with a good connection between estimation and work preparation. That is why we are looking for a colleague who brings both disciplines together. Someone who not only calculates what a project costs, but also thinks along about how we can execute it smartly and well.

From our office in Hengelo, we work on diverse renovation and sustainability projects in the Eastern Netherlands. Think of the renovation and sustainability of the Drakensteijn apartment blocks in Almelo and Haringvliet and Dollard in Zwolle, the renovation of 1,100 student residences at the University of Twente, and the sustainability of 122 homes in the Varvik in Enschede. Additionally, we work long-term with various housing corporations in the region.

These are projects with visible social impact. Residents often simply stay at home while we make their homes more comfortable and future-proof.

What you'll do

As an estimator/work preparer for renovation and sustainability, you are involved in our projects from the initiative and design phases. You combine estimation, work preparation, procurement, planning, and BIM modeling. In this way, you form the link between plan and execution.

You analyze project information, create estimates and budgets, and assess technical solutions. In doing so, you look beyond the first solution. Can it be smarter? More efficient? More sustainable? You think along about execution methods, material choices, and other optimizations that add value for the client and improve the construction process.

As soon as a project proceeds, you translate the plan into a well-prepared execution. The knowledge you built up during the planning phase is directly applied to this.

You work in a close-knit team focused on renovation, transformation, and sustainability. In this role, you work closely with project managers, project leaders, site managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Together, you determine the best approach for every project.

By combining estimation and work preparation, you have influence on the entire process. From the first calculation to a project that is ready for execution. We preserve what has value and add what creates value.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • preparing estimates, budgets, and cost calculations;

  • assessing quotes and purchasing materials and subcontractors;

  • identifying opportunities, risks, and optimizations during the planning phase;

  • elaborating work methods, schedules, and logistics;

  • supporting tender and construction team processes;

  • preparing projects so that execution can start efficiently and well-organized;

  • continuously improving processes with digital tools and innovative techniques.

This will be your job

The atmosphere? Informal and professional. We work result-oriented, help each other, and give you plenty of room to take initiative and further develop yourself.

That is why this position suits you

You love variety. One moment you dive into figures and costs, the next you are thinking about planning, technology, or execution. You don't just want to know what a project costs, but also want to have influence on how we realize it.

You will get that space at Dura Vermeer Bouw en Vastgoed Hengelo. Because you combine estimation and work preparation, you remain involved throughout a large part of the process. As a result, you ultimately see your choices reflected on the construction site.
