Are you a Business Controller who looks beyond just the numbers? Do you find it interesting to combine financial insights with customer focus, commercial performance, and process improvement? Then we at Royal Den Hartogh have a great challenge for you!
We are looking for a Business Controller Customer Service to help our Customer Service, Account Management, and Operations departments make better decisions. You are the financial sparring partner for the business and ensure that customer agreements, operational performance, and financial results align well.
As Business Controller Customer Service, you are positioned at the intersection of finance, commerce, and operations. You analyze customer results, monitor margins and service costs, and help our teams further improve commercial and operational performance.
In doing so, you look beyond the numbers alone. Are our customers profitable? Are all services delivered being invoiced correctly? How are our order volumes developing? And where are the opportunities to make our service delivery more efficient and more profitable?
With your analyses, you make these issues insightful and help the organization implement concrete improvements.
You are the financial sparring partner for Customer Service, Account Management, and Operations and advise on revenue development, margins, and operational performance.
You analyze customer results, cost prices, and service costs and map out opportunities for margin improvement.
You monitor order volumes against budgets and forecasts and translate developments into financial insights.
You monitor the correct recharging of service costs and signal potential revenue leakages or activities that are not being invoiced.
You support pricing agreements, indexations, customer reviews, and commercial decision-making.
You develop and improve dashboards and reports regarding KPIs such as delivery reliability (OTIF), order volumes, claims, productivity, and service levels.
You contribute to accurate and timely invoicing, support month-end closings, and reconcile financial data with Accounting.
You initiate and lead improvement projects focused on efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
What makes this position special is that as a Business Controller, you are directly involved in both the financial and commercial sides of our service delivery.
You work closely with various departments and are given the space to perform analyses independently, propose improvements, and think critically about important decisions.
Think, for example, of improving customer profitability, developing reliable forecasts, optimizing invoicing processes, or making commercial performance insightful.
In doing so, you are not only responsible for delivering figures, but also help to set the right actions in motion.
Your analyses contribute directly to better customer relationships, stronger financial performance, and a more efficient organization.
We are looking for an analytically strong Business Controller who feels at home in a dynamic, commercial, and customer-oriented environment. Someone who knows how to translate financial insights into concrete advice and switches easily between different stakeholders.
You recognize yourself in the following:
You possess HBO or WO working and thinking levels, preferably in a financial, business economics, or business administration direction.
You have experience within business control, financial control, or a comparable analytical financial role.
You have an affinity with commercial processes, customer service, account management, or an operationally driven organization.
You are strong in financial analyses and have insight into revenue development, margins, cost prices, and profitability.
You have experience with forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and financial process improvement, or are ready to further develop yourself in these areas.
You are communicatively strong and can convey financial insights in an understandable way to colleagues outside of finance.
You are customer-oriented and understand how commercial agreements and operational performance influence the financial result.
You work independently, proactively, and result-oriented, and dare to think critically about existing processes.
Just as important as your experience is your attitude. You are curious, hands-on, and enjoy collaborating with different departments. You signal opportunities and risks, take initiative, and know how to turn analyses into concrete improvements.
You feel comfortable in an environment where finance, commerce, and operations come together and derive satisfaction from improving both financial results and service to customers.
