Financial & Business Controller

At Quatra, we are looking for a Financial & Business Controller who looks back and forward and provides insights that the business can actually use. Someone who takes initiative and acts entrepreneurially. Someone who understands not only the numbers, but also the people and processes behind them. Does this sound like you?

• Preparing, analyzing, and further developing management reports and dashboards that truly help the Leadership Team steer;

• Analyzing financial results, KPIs, and operational performance and identifying what is happening behind the numbers;

• Coordinating budgets, forecasts, and monthly follow-ups in close alignment with Group Finance in Lokeren;

• Substantiating investment proposals, business cases, and strategic choices with clear analyses;

• Improving financial processes and reports, even if that means questioning existing ways of working;

• Liaising between the Dutch operation, the German activities, and the international Group Finance team.

As a Financial & Business Controller, you are responsible for the financial management information of Quatra Netherlands and Quatra Germany. You report directly to the Country Manager and serve as a permanent sparring partner for the Leadership Team.

The Finance team in the Netherlands consists of five people, including yourself. A large part of the Finance function within Quatra International is centralized at the headquarters in Lokeren. You are the local financial link: the person who knows what is happening in the Dutch and German operations and translates that into actionable insights for management.

You work closely with the Finance Manager, the Group Finance Team in Lokeren, and the CFO. The German activities also fall under your scope; for this, you coordinate remotely with the relevant colleagues. No direct reports, but plenty of contact throughout the organization. You work from Amsterdam and travel periodically to the headquarters in Lokeren, where you meet the broader finance team and the Group Controller.

You are analytically strong and pragmatic. You dare to ask critical questions, even to managers and directors, and you are not easily talked out of your position. But you also know how to maintain connections. You stand firm in your shoes without losing contact with the people around you.

• You actively seek connection with colleagues in operations, because you know that the best insights arise there;

• You are independent enough to find your way in a decentralized setting and communicate easily with the international team in Lokeren;

• You feel at home in a no-nonsense company where short lines and decisiveness matter more than extensive presentations.

Quatra is an international fast-growing group, specialized in the collection and recycling of used cooking oil. No marketing story: sustainability is the business model here. We process more than 250,000 tons of UCO annually into raw material for renewable fuels, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and operate from 10 countries with over 250,000 customers in hospitality, catering, industry, and shipping. In the Netherlands, alongside traditional collection activities, we are building a growing trading operation where we purchase volumes worldwide and market them through our European network.

As a Financial & Business Controller, you work close to the decision-making. Your analyses reach the Leadership Team, and you translate what has been built centrally into Dutch practice. No thick layer of management between you and the impact of your work.

• A salary up to € 6,200 gross per month on a full-time basis, depending on education and experience;
