Site Manager in construction: building together with pride - VolkerWessels | VolkerWessels
As a Site Manager, you ensure that the project runs smoothly, safely, and according to plan every day. With your leadership, overview, and technical knowledge, you manage your team, subcontractors, and processes, and you are the primary point of contact for everyone on and around the construction site.
You motivate and guide the team of construction site employees and partners. You can switch gears quickly, which suits our dynamic organization well! One moment you are analyzing safety on the construction site, only to then prepare a planning session with the project manager. Your focus lies on executing the work safely, correctly, and efficiently.
Additionally, you deploy the available budget in an efficient manner and monitor costs and hours in relation to the planned expenditures, ensuring that the predetermined return is minimally achieved.
And furthermore:
You distribute the work, monitor the schedule, and adjust where necessary;
You ensure that safety regulations are complied with during construction and you make an active contribution to safety awareness;
You identify, register, and monitor extra and reduced work, and you draw up 6-week plans (KYP) and manage risks during execution;
You organize various planning meetings, such as the project start-up, the joint planning session (GPS), and the weekly and daily starts.
To be up-and-running quickly, you bring several years of experience as a Site Manager within construction. You are able to motivate your team in a coaching manner to achieve the best result together. You have technical knowledge but also enjoy monitoring the schedule. You are the one who understands that building together and the atmosphere on the construction site partly determine the success of a project.
However, are you a starting Site Manager who is ready for the next step? Even then, we cordially invite you to respond. We offer internal guidance where you grow from smaller projects to larger and more complex projects, so that you can further develop in the role of Site Manager.
Depending on your place of residence, there are various possibilities. For candidates from Twente, it is nice if you are willing to stay overnight for a few days for projects that are further away. During projects, you stay in a hotel with all facilities, where everything—from housing to meals—is arranged for you.
For example, if you live more centrally in the Netherlands, the more centrally located projects are easily accessible by car on a daily basis. We would like to coordinate this together with you in consultation.
In addition, you bring the following:
A completed MBO or HBO education in the field of Civil Engineering;
In possession of Vol-VCA for supervisors or the willingness to obtain this;
Knowledge of safety regulations and legislation;
Proficiency in the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
Availability of 36 - 40 hours per week.
