Senior Civil Engineering Site Manager

Currently, Besix Nederland is working on the northern side of the Houten-Hooipolder section. Our team is responsible for the renewal of the Hagesteinsebrug and, to expand, we are looking for a senior site manager for the main span of the bridge.

As a senior site manager, you are a specialist in the execution of complex civil engineering concrete structures. The 2-phase certificate for the Hagesteinsebrug has been obtained, and the focus on the execution design is starting. This provides the opportunity to apply your expertise within this multidisciplinary project. 

You monitor progress, finances, quality, safety, and working conditions within all phases of execution. In consultation with the execution team, you act as the point of contact for the project and provide daily leadership on the construction site. You have daily contact with the client, suppliers, subcontractors, your project team, and users. You oversee a safe execution of the works and within the set timeframe. 

• You are entrepreneurial and manage your work within the frameworks of the project;
• the use of LEAN tools is familiar to you - you are an enthusiastic ambassador of this methodology;
• you provide input for overall planning and phasing, and in consultation with your team, you draw up the operational work schedule;
• you perform inspections of the work carried out;
• you are responsible for conducting start-of-work briefings and HSE instructions;
• you track extra and/or reduced work and report this to the main site manager;
• you work in accordance with QHSE rules within BESIX and act as an emergency responder (BHV) on location;
• you arrange inspections together with the work preparation department;
• you attend execution meetings where necessary;
• you act as a point of contact on the construction site.
