As a Risk Manager, you will have a grip on the project portfolio of BESIX Nederland. Together with operations and project managers, you determine which risk management approach is best suited for which work. You also share your knowledge with other colleagues who perform the substantive risk management. Additionally, you take responsibility for strategic projects to establish state-of-the-art risk management there. You do this  in collaboration with the Risk Management Competence Center of the BESIX Group, where you represent the Netherlands.

You will be part of the Project Control, Environmental Management & Digitalization department, which consists of a group of 15-20 enthusiastic professionals and specialists working on tenders and ongoing projects within both infrastructure and building construction. Within the Project Control department, you represent the field of risk management and ensure alignment with other disciplines within project control, such as planning, process management, quality management, and contract management. 

You are able to also provide support to project teams and are hands-on enough to start the first risk sessions yourself, provide the initial input, and thereafter fulfill a more controlling and directing role. 

 What does your role as a Risk Manager look like?

• Further developing the field of risk management at company and project level; 
• Enthusing colleagues to actively apply risk management and to become more proficient in this; 
• Creating new insights and steering information at management, project, and employee levels; 
• Maintaining contacts with colleagues in Brussels & Dubai and translating developments from BESIX Group to BESIX Nederland and vice versa.

Within projects and tenders:

• Implementing risk management on a project according to the BESIX standard:
• developing and managing the risk register according to a recognized method (such as RISMAN);
• assessing and analyzing risks and opportunities using the necessary tools (Palisade @Risk, internal BESIX risk tooling); 
• reporting to the project team and client; 
• facilitating risk sessions with the project team and with the client; 
• systematically investigating risks and control measures, both requested and unsolicited; 
• advising the project team and (project) management on the development of the risk profile and its control; 
• monitoring that control measures are implemented in a timely manner.
