Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and connecting civil engineering specialist who takes ownership of complex projects and effortlessly switches between design, execution, and coaching.

For our Animal Health locations in Boxmeer and De Bilt, we are looking for a:

• Coaching and directing engineers and safeguarding activities according to established standards (GxP and non-GxP)
• Acting as lead engineer in larger projects under the direction of a project manager
• Supporting complex issues and escalations within the civil engineering domain
• Requesting and evaluating quotes
• Independently designing and developing investment projects according to applicable laws and regulations
• Checking and evaluating technical documentation from suppliers and engineering partners
• Guiding civil engineering activities during the execution phase in coordination with the site construction manager
• Instructing and guiding contractors and external parties
• Checking and evaluating performed work, together with project engineers where necessary
• Guiding (interim) handovers and monitoring progress
• Checking and monitoring project schedules and changes (extra and reduced work)
• Ensuring correct processing of as-built documentation in the document management system
• Implementing new laws and regulations, standards, and procedures within the field
• Supervising compliance with safety regulations within all project phases
• Directing external engineering firms

Our Animal Health division develops and produces vaccines and pharmaceutical products for animals, with production and R&D locations worldwide. The locations in Boxmeer and De Bilt play a key role in this and operate according to the highest quality and safety standards (GxP).

Within the Manufacturing Division, Site Engineering is responsible for realizing and managing critical investment projects. Additionally, the team supports the organization with technical consultancy and troubleshooting.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists, where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are central.

About the position
As a Civil Engineering Specialist, you are responsible for guiding both the design and the execution of various investment projects. You provide functional direction to civil engineers and ensure the safeguarding of quality, planning, and working methods.

You combine technical expertise with coaching leadership and play a key role in ensuring compliance, safety, and project results. Where necessary, you actively support in execution and act as the technical point of contact within the civil engineering field. Additionally, you are a technical expert within your field and actively contribute to knowledge development and coaching within the team.
