The role
As a Systems Engineer at Ballast Nedam, you play a key role in realizing complex infrastructural projects. You ensure that systems are designed, built, and managed in an integrated, structured manner and demonstrably according to all requirements. You support project teams in applying systems engineering according to, among others, ISO-15288, and you are the specialist for the setup, optimization, and management of Relatics 5.0.
You work "under the hood" of Relatics 5.0, but always with an eye for the user. You align the setup with what the project team needs and ensure that requirements, processes, and project information are structured logically and workably. In doing so, you are not only dealing with requirements: you are involved in both design and execution, so that you understand the context for which the information is being used.
You participate in both tender and execution phases and actively contribute ideas for improving work processes and the further professionalization of systems engineering within our projects.
Specifically, you will be involved in:
Translating, importing, and structuring contract and project requirements (including VSE and VSP) into a logical and manageable requirements package;
Setting up, configuring, and managing Relatics 5.0, including user management, updates, and aligning the setup with project and user needs;
Setting up and linking project data structures to ensure coherence between requirements, design, and execution;
Coordinating and facilitating verification and validation activities, including evidence, assessment moments, and reporting;
Demonstrating that the delivered system meets contractual, technical, and legal requirements, and reporting deviations and risks;
Collaborating with design, execution, project control, and information management to guarantee integrated project quality;
Supporting, training, and guiding project teams and colleagues in applying systems engineering and Relatics.
As a Systems Engineer at Ballast Nedam, you combine technology, structure, and collaboration. You work on projects that shape the Netherlands, you are given space to innovate, and you contribute to the further development of systems engineering within Ballast Nedam.
What you bring
You have an interest in systems engineering within infrastructural projects;
You enjoy being involved in both design and execution;
You think in structures, but always keep an eye on practical application;
Affinity with data structures, information systems, and project-based environments;
A completed HBO or WO degree, preferably in technical business administration, (civil) engineering, business administration, or similar;
Experience with systems engineering or requirements management is a plus;
You are analytical, proactive, and possess strong communication skills.
