The role
Work on systems that must never stop.
Imagine: an airport where security is entirely dependent on systems that must work together in real time. Cameras, detection, access control, and control rooms that are continuously active — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Within the Airports Business Line at Bosch, you will work on integrated security systems that contribute directly to the safety and continuity of Schiphol.
Think of:
- CCTV and video analytics
- radar and perimeter detection
- access and alarm systems
- control room applications and operating environments
Everything runs continuously and is interconnected, meaning what you manage and optimize has a direct impact on safety and operations.
Bosch is not an organization driven by shareholders or quick quarterly results. Bosch is a stable foundation with a focus on:
- quality and reliability
- long-term collaboration
- sustainable development of employees
- technology that adds real value
That is why we do not see a first-year contract as a temporary formality, but as a conscious start to a collaboration that must work for both sides.
Here, you don't just work on systems. You build continuity, expertise, and trust.
Your role: making systems smarter, more stable, and more reliable.
As a Customer System Engineer – Security Systems, you monitor and improve the big picture.
You look beyond just solving malfunctions:
What you'll do
- You analyze connections.
- You see risks before users notice them.
- You ensure systems continue to perform while Schiphol is constantly changing.
You work exactly at the intersection of:
- technology
- operations
- management
- optimization
And that is precisely where you make the difference.
From analysis to structural improvement
- Monitoring system performance and availability
- Analyzing malfunctions, trends, and deviations
- Implementing optimizations and improvements
- Coordinating with Schiphol stakeholders and users
- Advising on expansions and technical innovations
- Guiding changes in live systems
- Collaborating on expansions and project-based improvements
- Supporting the setup, delivery, and management of security systems
- Resolving complex technical disruptions
- Performing software and release management
- Upgrading and implementing applications and systems
- Recording configurations, analyses, and documentation
- Participating in on-call shifts
You ensure that systems do not just remain operational — but continuously become smarter and more reliable.
The environment: live, complex, and always in motion
Working at Schiphol means:
- systems run continuously
- multiple interests intersect
- changes take place in a live environment
- safety is always number one
Downtime is not an option here.
That requires someone who:
- thinks ahead
- is analytically strong
- maintains an overview under pressure
- quickly understands technical connections
You work in an environment where reliability is more important than theory — and where your choices are directly visible in the operations.
Must-haves
What you bring
Highly desirable
Who you are
- You think beyond the malfunction itself
- You see patterns and opportunities for improvement
- You remain calm under pressure
- You take ownership
- You work in a structured and forward-thinking manner
You are someone who makes systems better while they keep running.
Why this role is different
You are not managing a “standard IT environment” here. You are working on systems that:
- must always remain available
- have a direct impact on safety
- function in real time in a live airport environment
- are continuously adapted and expanded
What you optimize makes a direct difference to operations, safety, and reliability.
Why you want this
- want to improve technology instead of just managing it
- get energy from complex live environments
- want to make an impact on safety and continuity
- want to work on systems that must never fail
- want to grow within a stable international organization
This is not a role for people who only solve incidents. This is a role for professionals who want to be responsible for the performance of complete security environments.
