Civil Engineering Internship

Within Hurks, you will get the chance to do an internship at our office in Eindhoven or at one of our project locations, such as Oosterhout, Nuenen, Heeze, Veldhoven, Rijen, or Amsterdamse Poort. Depending on your interest, education, and learning goals, we will look together at which department suits you best. Think of work preparation, execution, finance, or another supporting discipline within construction.

As a Civil Engineering intern, you will get to know the daily practice of a construction organization. You will participate in the team, support colleagues with ongoing projects, and get the opportunity to directly apply knowledge from your studies. Additionally, you will be given the space to ask questions, take initiative, and work independently on your internship assignment.

Whether you enjoy being present on the construction site or rather get energy from the preparation and organization behind a project: at Hurks, you will get a broad view of the construction sector and discover where your qualities best shine.

• Supporting the preparation and organization of construction projects;

• Drafting and monitoring schedules and project overviews;

• Checking drawings and processing project data;

• Shadowing on the construction site and supporting the execution of activities;

• Coordinating with colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers;

• Contributing to the progress of ongoing projects within your team.

• You are following an mbo, hbo, or wo education in the direction of civil engineering, built environment, (technical) business administration, or similar and are available (nearly) full-time for a period of 5 months; 

• You manage the Dutch language at a good level, both spoken and written;

• You take initiative, are curious, and dare to ask questions;

• Preferably, you possess a driver's license;

• You receive an internship allowance of €507,- (MBO) or €600,- (HBO) gross per 4 weeks. Converted, that is €550,- (MBO) and €650,- (HBO) gross per month for a full-time internship;

• An internship position where you are truly part of the team. No fetching coffee, but contributing to projects that have a visible impact together with your enthusiastic team;

• Good guidance. Your permanent internship supervisor will teach you the ins and outs of the profession;

• Chance for a follow-up within the organization. Many interns stay for a graduation assignment or start later as a junior.
