What you'll get
A contract of at least 32 hours per week
A salary between €3,600 and €4,950 gross per month depending on knowledge and experience.
A company laptop and phone.
Holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, paid in June.
A total of 30 leave days per year with full-time employment and the possibility to purchase extra days.
Working under the CAO Metaal & Techniek – Technisch installatiebedrijf.
The role
As an Operational Service Buyer, you are the connecting link between the purchasing team, the service organization, the warehouse, and suppliers. You are part of the purchasing team, but you also work closely with colleagues from Service. Therefore, you are physically present at the service department two to three days per week. You understand what is happening there and translate daily needs into concrete purchasing actions, applying the established purchasing agreements and principles.
Your focus lies on the daily execution of the purchasing process. You process requests, place and follow up on orders, monitor deliveries, and ensure that the right parts and services are available at the right time. You enjoy organizing, following up, and solving problems, and you ensure that agreements are actually met.
In a service environment, a day does not always go as planned. A technician might unexpectedly need a part that is not in stock, a supplier might fail to make a delivery on time, or a breakdown might require immediate action. You keep a cool head, set the right priorities, and search creatively for solutions. You switch quickly with suppliers, the service coordinator, and the warehouse, and investigate alternatives or possibilities for urgent deliveries where necessary.
In doing so, you keep an eye on various interests. You understand that Service needs to be helped quickly, but you also do not lose sight of the established purchasing agreements, costs, and quality. You work independently, take responsibility for your orders, and ensure that involved colleagues know where they stand.
No two days are the same. Your schedule can change at any moment due to an urgent breakdown or a missing part. That is exactly when you make the difference: you maintain an overview, switch effortlessly between different teams, and ensure a solution is found.
What you'll do
Executing and monitoring the operational purchasing process for Service and Maintenance, from request and quotation to order, delivery, and invoice verification.
Purchasing technical parts and services and actively following up on outstanding orders, delivery times, and stock levels.
Resolving ad-hoc requests and emergency situations by switching quickly, investigating alternatives, and arranging suitable logistical solutions.
Maintaining daily contact with service coordinators, planners, the warehouse, and suppliers, and coordinating technical specifications, article and type numbers, and possible alternatives.
Handling returns, complaints, warranty claims, and delivery discrepancies, and correctly processing orders and invoices in the ERP system.
Identifying recurring bottlenecks and proposing practical improvements in the daily purchasing and service process.
Requirements
You are an independent and practical buyer who gets energy from organizing, following up, and getting things done. You do not need to analyze every issue extensively before taking action: you know when to push forward, when to consult, and when to search creatively for an alternative.
You feel at home in a dynamic service environment where priorities can change and different interests converge. You know how to build the connection between the purchasing team and the service department, communicate easily with various colleagues and suppliers, and know how to reach agreements in a pleasant, clear manner. You are visibly present at the service department and understand what the technicians and service coordinators need, without losing sight of purchasing agreements and costs.
