As a BIM Engineer at Zwart, you do much more than just creating a good 3D model. BIM is fully developing within our organization, and that is exactly where your opportunity lies. You will be given the space to use your knowledge and experience to further professionalize BIM and help determine how we work with it within Zwart.
You will work on technically complex and client-specific emergency power projects, including for data centers and other mission-critical environments. You translate 3D CAD models and designs into smart BIM models in Revit, but at the same time, you look beyond the model itself. How can processes be smarter? Which standards do we need? And how do we ensure that Engineering, Project Management, customers, and suppliers collaborate optimally within BIM?
Together with experienced Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers, you build solutions that must be technically correct and must be feasible. With your BIM expertise, you connect the different disciplines and help colleagues to apply BIM increasingly better.
In short: a role for an experienced BIM Modeller, BIM Engineer, or BIM Coordinator who does not only want to model, but also wants to have a visible influence on processes, quality, and the further development of BIM within Zwart.
Within our Mechanical Engineering department, you work together with various technical specialists. You participate in the full process of our projects and are the specialist when it comes to BIM. Your responsibilities include:
In short: you do not only model within our BIM workflow, you also help shape that workflow.
Translating and converting 3D CAD models, including from Inventor, to Revit.
Managing, checking, and monitoring BIM models.
Ensuring that models are technically correct, feasible, and meet the agreed BIM quality requirements.
Drafting, maintaining, and further developing BIM and BUP plans and protocols.
Developing a good workflow for the conversion of 3D CAD to Revit.
Improving and standardizing BIM processes, procedures, and working methodologies.
Identifying deviations and bottlenecks in designs and making them a topic of discussion.
Supporting projects with BIM issues.
Coordinating with Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, customers, clients, and suppliers.
Representing Zwart in the field of BIM during project meetings.
Sharing your BIM knowledge with colleagues and thereby further professionalizing our organization.
We are looking for someone who understands what BIM means for technology, collaboration, processes, and quality. You have:
At least a completed technical MBO-4 education and HBO working and thinking level, for example in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
Several years of experience within the BIM field, for example as a BIM Engineer, BIM Modeller, or BIM Coordinator.
Extensive experience with Revit - this is a must for this position.
Knowledge of BIM methodologies, standards, protocols, and BIM/BUP plans.
Affinity with and knowledge of mechanical engineering installations.
Experience working according to and preferably improving BIM processes and protocols.
Preferably knowledge of 3D CAD programs such as Inventor.
Preferably experience with software such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360/ACC and/or BIMcollab.
A good command of the Dutch and English languages.
Additionally, you work accurately and structured, easily take initiative, and dare to address colleagues and other stakeholders when something can be improved technically or procedurally.
At Zwart, you will receive a position in which you get a lot of freedom and responsibility. You get the chance to not only work on our projects but also to contribute visibly to the way we organize and further develop BIM within Zwart. You can count on:
A substantive BIM role with room for own initiative.
Technically complex and unique projects.
Extensive collaboration with various engineering disciplines.
