Are you an entrepreneurial supply chain professional who acts quickly and converts data into actionable information in no time, for example to identify trends or to initiate improvement projects? Then this job as a Project Buyer at Benchmark might be for you, shall we read further?!
As a Project Buyer, you stand at the beginning of the supply chain and are an important player in the project team. You fulfill a bridging function for the design of the procurement process to bring a product from design to production. You are responsible for all procurement-related matters within the projects assigned to you. Together with the Commodity Managers, you are responsible for the correct selection of suppliers, ensure that suppliers are managed in a timely manner with the correct information, independently guide the complete delivery process, and ensure important procurement information is up to date in the ERP system.
Below is a selection of the most important tasks and responsibilities:
Representing procurement in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Change projects.
Thinking along and advising on make-or-buy decisions.
Selecting the right suppliers together with the Commodity Managers based on the commodity strategy.
Ensuring the execution of the procurement project, during which you independently manage critical suppliers.
Monitoring quality, timely deliveries, correct costs, and risks of the projects.
Analyzing the procurement package, mapping (supply) risks, and taking measures to minimize them.
Creating and presenting the Supply Chain Management plan in which the risks in the supply chain are mapped.
Initiating improvement proposals to improve the (project) procurement process.
Conducting negotiations and setting up the agreements in the ERP system.
In addition to the substantive work, you actively participate in improvement sessions and come up with initiatives to improve the procurement process within the projects. In other words: YOU actively contribute to how project procurement should be executed.
We work in a dynamic high-tech environment where different things are required every day. It is therefore important that we constantly switch between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and the customer. Connecting, collaborating, and communicating are important values in this.
You develop yourself by taking calculated risks, making mistakes, and learning from them.
Do you see opportunities to improve procurement procedures? Then we would love to encourage you to come up with a plan and ultimately implement it!
A dynamic working environment where you are part of a global company. Here, you work in independent teams where we are open to new initiatives and ideas. Entrepreneurship is seen, valued, and encouraged. Within Benchmark, we like to offer you the space to grow and, if you wish, to take career steps. This can be both within and outside your current field of expertise; there are plenty of possibilities.
Additionally, we offer:
Good salary: with a range of €4,795 to €6,100 gross per month based on a full-time work week and depending on your previous work experience and educational background.
Quarterly bonus: this is dependent on turnover and can amount to a maximum of 5% of your quarterly salary.
Vacation: enjoy 40 days off per year (27 vacation days and 13 ATV days).
Room for growth and development opportunities: for example, by participating in one of the many trainings offered by our Benchmark Academy.
Flexible working hours: as long as you ensure your work is finished, there is the possibility within Benchmark to schedule your working hours in a flexible manner.
An extensive onboarding process: so that you truly start well in your new job. For example, our 30-60-90-day plan helps you to make a lightning-fast start in this position.
And of course a challenging role for an experienced Project Buyer who enjoys being substantively involved with various internal & external stakeholders and simultaneously has the ambition to improve processes.
You complete our team when you dare to be critical and dare to call out weak spots. You are a self-starter par excellence, serve as a role model for your colleagues, and are proactive, structured, and can maintain an overview within the hecticness. We also find it important that you are analytically well-versed, so that you know exactly how to convert data into information.
In addition, we would like to see the following from you:
At least HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level and solid experience in supply chain, preferably within a high-tech environment.
Experience in procuring mechanics and electronics, with the latter being a preference.
Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communicator in both Dutch and English; this enables you to switch quickly and to build strong customer and supplier relationships.
