Zwart Techniek is a leading system integrator and specialist in energy security for critical environments, with a strong position in the rapidly growing data center market. From IJmuiden, Houten, and Frankfurt, Zwart designs, builds, and maintains complex emergency power, energy storage, and Microgrid solutions for customers in 11 countries. The company guides projects from engineering and design to installation, commissioning, and maintenance, thereby playing an important role in the energy transition. Zwart employs approximately 200 people and has experienced strong international growth in recent years. Despite this growth, the organization has maintained its technical and entrepreneurial character, with short lines of communication, a high degree of personal responsibility, and a down-to-earth, hands-on mentality. Quality, safety, craftsmanship, and reliability are central to this.
Since 2025, Seven2 has been supporting Zwart's growth ambitions as a private equity shareholder. In the coming years, the European position will be further expanded through organic growth, internationalization, expansion of services, and potential acquisitions. Digitalization, AI, the growth of data centers, grid congestion, and the energy transition are driving a structurally increasing demand for reliable and smart energy solutions. At the same time, this growth places higher demands on reporting, control, compliance, taxation, and scalable financial processes. The new Group Controller will therefore take on a central role as the substantive right hand to the CFO and as the driving force behind the further professionalization of Finance.
As Group Controller of Zwart Techniek, you will receive a broad financial key role within a rapidly growing and internationalizing company. You report directly to the CFO and will become his most important substantive sparring partner in the field of Financial Control & Reporting. You will take over a significant part of his current activities and ensure that the CFO, management, and shareholder have access to reliable reports and sharp management information.
You combine substantive depth with a hands-on approach: you coordinate and monitor, but also dive into complex files yourself and ensure that topics are completed. At the same time, you will continue to build a Finance organization that can grow alongside Zwart.
Group Reporting & Control: consolidation, management and shareholder reporting, annual accounts, and audit.
Developing KPIs, analyses, dashboards, and BI solutions.
Professionalizing internal control/internal audit (AO/IB), controls, and risk management.
Coordinating international tax and compliance issues.
Treasury & insurance: bank guarantees, credit facilities, covenants, and insurance portfolio.
Budget & professionalization: coordinating the budget cycle and improving financial processes and tooling.
We are looking for a substantively strong financial professional who has excellent command of Financial Control and consciously chooses a broad role close to the CFO and the company. You combine analytical sharpness with a pragmatic, hands-on attitude and switch easily between strategic sparring and diving into the substance yourself. You work in a structured and accurate manner, take ownership, and are persistent with complex issues. Additionally, you are a strong communicator and capable of reducing financial matters clearly to their essence. You show initiative and have the ambition and potential to take on broader responsibilities within Finance as you progress.
Completed university degree (WO), for example in Business Economics, Accountancy, or Controlling; an RC or RA title is a plus.
Demonstrable relevant work experience built up in a control function and/or partly at an accounting firm.
Experience with monthly reporting to shareholders/investors and preparing management information at a consolidated level.
Affinity with the technical installations sector and project-based working, and extensive experience with project administration.
Analytically and numerically strong: Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
Visibility and natural leadership. Visible and approachable within the organization. You bring people along without always needing formal authority to do so.
Accurate and quality-oriented, with an eye for detail without losing the overview.
Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial matters understandably to various stakeholders (management, shareholder, bank, accountant).
