Due to significant growth in the Netherlands, WSP BU E&E wants to strengthen its expertise in the field of environmental permits.
You are the central point of contact for (international) industrial clients regarding integrated issues concerning environmental permits, environmental impact assessments, and environmental studies. You oversee the entirety of necessary permits and studies to be conducted, connect disciplines, and make complex environmental issues manageable, clear, and achievable for the client. As a Senior Environmental Permits Advisor at WSP, you work on diverse projects with a clear focus on the Central and Northern Netherlands. You help companies with their challenges regarding realization, growth, construction, and sustainability. As an experienced advisor, you know what is required to realize companies' plans and can provide substantive guidance and coordination for these processes.
You are a director, sparring partner, and permanent point of contact for (international) industrial clients. You provide broad advice in the field of the environment and guide environmental permit processes from A to Z. This ranges from environmentally harmful activities and construction permits to EIA, spatial planning, and nature. Additionally, you participate in due diligence investigations in the field of permits. You possess substantive knowledge, for example, in the areas of PGS, ZZS, BAT, or water, and you can manage and assess other specialist studies. Furthermore, you handle the coordination and communication with competent authorities, clearly and decisively representing your client's interests.
This role offers room for your generalist strengths. You recognize bottlenecks, oversee connections, and come up with solutions that work in practice and hold up in procedures. Whether you work from Leeuwarden or Nieuwegein, your impact reaches beyond your location, and you build sustainable relationships centered on trust and quality.
Approximately 10 years of experience advising (international) industrial clients on complex environmental issues, permits, and/or environmental impact assessments, preferably within a commercial organization.
A broad, generalist perspective, and the ability to oversee complex files integrally and manage them substantively.
Experience with environmental themes such as water, nature, nitrogen, BAT, ZZS, and PGS, and of course, thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Skilled at solving bottlenecks, bringing interests together, and guiding procedures.
Possess strong communication skills and persuasiveness.
When considering a career change, it is essential to work for a company that aligns with your values and goals, a place where you can feel at home.

With us, you can.
You will become part of WSP's environmental team: a multidisciplinary network of advisors, specialists, and project leaders. A great deal of substantive knowledge is present within the team. You bring your own technical substantive knowledge but also connect expertise, organize, and guide the work.
Collaboration is central, as are trust and autonomy. You will be given the space to work independently, to further expand your own projects and clients, and to substantively strengthen colleagues with your experience.
