The role

At WSP, we believe that sustainable choices today make the difference for tomorrow. As Environmental Project Manager, you are the driving force behind projects that make the Netherlands greener, healthier, and future-proof. From complex soil investigations to strategic environmental projects: you ensure everything runs smoothly, with an eye for quality, planning, and collaboration.

Your role in our story

As Environmental Project Manager, you are the face of WSP towards our clients and partners. You know how to connect interests and create trust, while guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that projects run smoothly and according to plan. You not only monitor budgets and deadlines, but also ensure that every project contributes to a better living environment - that is where you make the difference.

You take the lead on large-scale, complex projects, often arising from our framework agreement with a leading grid operator. In addition, you are actively involved in securing new assignments and building strong client relationships. You initiate and guide procurement processes and tenders, and you are substantively sharp when preparing estimates.

Additionally, you are the linchpin in stakeholder management: you manage subcontractors and external partners and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned. From the coordination and execution of environmental projects to monitoring planning, budget, and quality - you maintain the overview and take responsibility from start to finish.

Why WSP?

At WSP, we combine expertise and ambition to make the Netherlands more sustainable. We give you space for your ideas, invest in your development, and offer the freedom to truly make a difference.

With a team of 85 professionals, you work on projects with social impact: from soil investigation and remediation to circular area development and environmental impact assessments. In this role, you are part of the MT of BU Earth & Environment and work closely with colleagues from disciplines such as ecology, civil engineering, and construction.

What makes this role unique? You get the chance to truly shape projects and make an impact on the living environment of tomorrow.

What are we looking for in you?

You are a strategic thinker with a sharp eye for opportunities. Customer orientation is in your DNA: you know how to identify possibilities and translate them into convincing solutions that inspire trust. Furthermore, you bring:

  • a completed HBO or WO degree in environmental science, civil engineering, physical geography, or a similar field. Ideally 10 years of experience in a project-based environment.

  • affinity with acquisition and maintaining client relationships, with a sense for stakeholder dynamics and political sensitivity.

  • experience with tenders and effectively managing external parties.

  • a proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
