What we're looking for

You have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably in construction or infra (rail, road, or water);
You have completed an MVK or HVK education;
You have demonstrable experience in independently conducting incident investigations;
You are familiar with the Arbowet (Working Conditions Act) and related topics;
You can analyze complex information and translate it into clear conclusions, lessons learned, and practically applicable advice;
Knowledge of the NVW (Normenkader veilig werken) and the Arbocatalogus railinfra is a plus.

The role

Behind every rail incident lies a story. Will you ensure the complete story comes to light? In this role as a Safety Specialist, the focus lies on incident investigation. You investigate incidents from start to finish, you bring facts to the table, and you determine the actual causes. Your analyses lead not only to answers, but above all to concrete improvements that help to prevent repetition and continuously strengthen safety.

Incident investigation therefore forms the core of your position. Within the Integral Safety team, you are the primarily designated specialist for conducting and leading these investigations. When the investigation workload permits, you also apply your knowledge and experience to other safety-related activities within VolkerRail.

What you'll do

You independently investigate incidents and collect all facts, information, and statements needed to obtain a clear picture;
You interview those involved and witnesses and process the outcomes into clear reports;
You analyze the causes of incidents and advise projects, management, and involved departments on improvement measures;
You identify trends and recurring problems, monitor the implementation of improvement actions, and contribute to a safer organization.

You are part of the Integral Safety team and, within the established assignment and frameworks, you receive a high degree of autonomy.

What do you get in return?

A one-year contract. After one year, we will see if there is sufficient work to enter into an extension;
A salary of € 3,925 to € 6,400 gross per month, depending on age and experience;
