Senior Safety Specialist (HVK)

Safety at the highest level, literally and figuratively! For our Integral Projects business unit, we are looking for an experienced Senior Safety Specialist (HVK) who takes safety to the next level. You are a strong interlocutor for project directorates and management, but you are just as comfortable in the middle of the execution. With your knowledge, experience, and persuasiveness, you make the difference on projects where everything comes together: technology, people, environment, and collaboration.

As a Senior Safety Specialist, you work closely with the project directorate, management, and the project teams. You are involved from the tender and design phase and remain closely connected to the execution. Your responsibilities include:

You can regularly be found at our project locations, but you also know how to make a difference at the management level. Together, we ensure that safety is the priority in every phase of the project and that everyone returns home safely at the end of the working day.

• Advising project directorates and project teams on strategic and operational safety issues.

• Identifying and controlling complex safety risks from the tender and design phase onwards.

• Stimulating and further developing the safety culture within our projects.

• Analyzing incidents and near-misses and translating insights into concrete improvement measures.

• Coaching and guiding safety specialists and contributing to knowledge sharing within Integrale Projecten.

• Maintaining contacts with clients, construction partners, and other stakeholders in the field of safety.

• A gross monthly salary (based on 40 hours) of € 5,900 to € 7,600 - based on your background and experience

• A position for 32 to 40 hours per week

• A sustainable employability budget that we pay out monthly. This is 2.3% of your monthly salary

You are an experienced safety professional who stands firmly in your shoes. You know how complex construction and infra projects work and understand that safety requires more than procedures and regulations. It is about behavior, collaboration, leadership, and creating the right preconditions.

In addition, you possess:

• A completed education in Higher Safety Science (HVK).

• Extensive experience within construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, safety management systems, and risk control.

• Experience advising management, project directorates, and other stakeholders.

• Experience with developing and improving safety culture and safety processes.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage people at different levels.

• A proactive attitude, persuasiveness, and a healthy dose of organizational sensitivity.

Experience with the Safety Culture Ladder (SCL) and working within complex project organizations is a great addition.
