Your role
As Industrialization Logistics Team Leader, you will lead a new multidisciplinary team of professionals in the fields of supply chain engineering, logistics process development, material strategy, and product introduction. You will further build the team, establish clear responsibilities, and develop a uniform way of working for logistics industrialization.
You are responsible for designing, testing, and realizing the logistics chain for new products and product changes: from the concept and quotation stages through to prototype construction, pilot production, ramp-up, and transfer to the regular supply chain organization. Together with engineering, purchasing, and production, you determine how materials become available and flow in a controlled manner through the chain and factory.
You monitor the coherence between bill of materials, make/buy strategy, supplier readiness, lead times, material planning, inventory, capacity, packaging, storage, and internal logistics. You ensure that supply chain risks are mitigated in a timely manner and that the logistics setup fits both customer-specific single units and repetitive production.
What will you do?
Industrialization Logistics sets up the material, supplier, and logistics chain. The parallel department, Industrialization Engineering, determines how the product can be technically manufactured, assembled, and tested. Both teams work together in the same NPI projects from the concept phase and jointly provide substantiated advice on product and production readiness.
Your strength
You are a strong and connecting supply chain leader who is analytically strong and close to the operation. You understand how choices in design, bill of materials, sourcing, planning, and logistics influence each other. You can calculate scenarios and structure processes, but you also walk the shop floor to see if the material flow truly functions.
You bring calm to uncertainty, make risks discussable, and ensure that decisions are taken in a timely manner. You provide direction to specialists, build collaboration between departments, and keep an eye on both the customer promise and integral costs and feasibility.
At VDL Konings, you work closely to development and production. You see how product choices impact material availability, logistics, and delivery reliability and can exert influence on them from the start. The projects are varied, technically challenging, and intended for demanding high-tech markets.
Furthermore, this position offers something special: you do not step into an existing structure, but you get the space to further shape the Industrialization Logistics department. You build the team, the way of working, and the supply chain standards with which VDL Konings brings new products to production faster and in a more controlled manner.
Are you the team leader who smartly connects product development, suppliers, material, and production? And do you get energy from developing a team and designing robust supply chains for new products? Then we would love to get in touch with you.
Apply for the position of Industrialization Logistics Team Leader at VDL Konings and help build an organization in which new products are made technically and logistically ready for production from the very beginning.
