What will you do?

• As Strategic Category Lead, you are responsible for the procurement of plastic components and interior and exterior parts for our VDL Coach locations. You ensure the right balance between price, quality, delivery reliability, and sustainability. To achieve this, you work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and our production locations and report directly to the Procurement Manager.

• Purchasing plastic, interior, and exterior parts.
• Selecting and evaluating suppliers.
• Negotiating prices, contracts, delivery terms, and commercial agreements.
• Performing market analyses and identifying new suppliers.
• Realizing cost savings and commercial optimizations.
• Monitoring supplier performance in terms of price, quality, and delivery reliability.
• Building strong, sustainable relationships with strategic suppliers. Initiating and following up on improvement actions together with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Your permanent workplace is Koningshooikt. Regular travel to other locations within the Coach Group, such as Valkenswaard and Macedonia, is part of the position.

• You are a commercially strong and result-oriented buyer who enjoys taking responsibility. You can negotiate firmly, but also understand the importance of a good long-term relationship with suppliers.
