The role

As Strategic Plan Developer Airside, you determine which airside assets must be renovated on a large scale, when, and why. • Developing integrated scenarios and multi-year roadmaps for runway renovations, aircraft stands, checkpoints, and other critical airside assets, with an eye for safety, capacity, sustainability, and feasibility.
  • Prioritizing and programming renovation tasks and translating them into substantiated investment proposals that are positioned and realized within the Airport Development Plan.
  • Connecting engineers, project teams, operations, finance, and management, and driving supported and timely multidisciplinary decision-making within a complex stakeholder field.
  • Safeguarding renovation choices that contribute to a safe, predictable, and future-proof airport operation and align with strategic objectives.

In their own words

About the company & team

You work in a compact and highly substantive team of 8 Strategic Plan Developers, of which 2 to 3 colleagues focus specifically on Airside. You make the difference precisely in the initiation phase: from initial analysis and scenario formation to a management-supported roadmap and investment decision. You operate in the middle of a 24/7 operation where timing and impact are directly felt. Think of complex tasks such as runway renovations, aircraft stands, and checkpoints, where you continuously switch between strategy, technology, and operations and work with a broad and critical stakeholder field.

At Schiphol Infrastructure, we design, build, and manage all physical and digital assets of Schiphol. That is our contribution to Schiphol's ambition to be a high-quality and sustainable airport. With more than 800 colleagues, together with our chain partners, we will deliver more projects in the coming years and catch up on maintenance backlogs. In this way, we improve working conditions through the use of robots and lifting aids, we electrify assets on the airside, and we renew and make crucial parts such as the C-pier, baggage cellar, and climate systems more sustainable. At the same time, we resolve malfunctions and make thoughtful investment choices to prepare our infrastructure for the future.
