The role

As a senior cyber security engineer, you will strengthen the Cyber Defense Center and make Stedin's IT and OT systems more resilient against cyber threats.

What you'll do

As a senior cyber security engineer within the Cyber Defense Center, you combine technology, cybersecurity, and tactics. You will help build our detection platform, strengthen the connection with IT and OT systems, and take the lead during major security incidents. You will also translate the CDC's goals into concrete improvements in processes, tooling, automation, and detection. In this way, you will increase Stedin's digital resilience in a position where your work has a direct impact.

A day as a senior cyber security engineer:

  • You work on a new connection between our detection platform and Stedin's IT or OT systems.

  • Afterward, you continue building smart automation in our SOAR platform, so that security incidents are detected and handled faster.

  • During lunch, you seek out colleagues for a walk through Rotterdam or you lunch on the 18th floor with a view over the city.

  • If a security incident escalates, you take control and coordinate the response from start to finish.

  • You end the day with a brainstorm session about new detection rules, tooling, and automation. After that, you step straight from Blaak station onto the train, heading towards the gym, friends, or home.

Why working at Stedin gives you energy

  • Cyber threats evolve every day. You will stay one step ahead of them.

  • Work in a rhythm that suits you: hybrid working, flexible working hours, and employment of 32 to 36 hours, with 40 hours also available as an option.

  • Recharge when you need to: with excellent employment conditions and the possibility to purchase extra vacation days.

With these qualities, you will grow here

This is also good to know:

  • We would like to receive your motivation letter and CV in PDF format.

  • Flexible working hours and room to organize your work week smartly.

  • The role is available for 32 - 36 hours per week, with 40 hours as an option.

  • You will participate in a 24x7 on-call service.
