Pediatric Nursing Internship HBO-V VIAA

Are you a Nursing student at the VIAA and looking for an educational internship? From February 2027, an internship position will once again be available on the child and adolescent ward of our hospital.

During your internship, you work and learn at the same time. You apply the theory from your studies in practice and discover what you can contribute to the care of children and adolescents. You will become part of a close-knit team that provides care to patients from 0 to 18 years old. From children with a chronic condition to adolescents recovering from surgery.

Every day is different and requires flexibility and commitment. It is precisely through that variety that you learn a lot: about the profession and about yourself. You will be guided by experienced nurses who coach you in your development into a competent healthcare professional.

About the child and adolescent ward
The ward consists of two units:
• The child and adolescent ward with single and double rooms
• The incubator unit in the Mother & Child Center (MKC)

As an intern, you will be deployed on the child and adolescent ward. A total of 21 children and adolescents are nursed here. The ward has five double rooms, six anterooms, and five single rooms.

• Nursing care in a special environment.

• Working from the interest of the care recipient.

• Collaborating in a team and with parents.

• Performing practical assignments and conducting research.

There is a cooperation agreement with the VIAA. Your training program determines how many hours you intern and when your lecture day is.

• In September 2026, you are a 4th-year HBO-V student at the VIAA. This internship position is exclusively for students of the VIAA. Unfortunately, applications from students of other educational institutions cannot be processed.

• Hospital experience in other internships is a plus.

• Preferably, you have completed the "Child and Youth" Minor.

• An internship agreement for 6 months. The location is Harderwijk. 

• An internship allowance in accordance with the CAO.

• Via the St Jansdal academy, you can work (online) on your personal and professional development. There are also regular fun initiatives, including workshops, to keep you healthy and vital.
