What we're looking for

You work at Mbo-level and have a customer-friendly attitude. You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages and you have a driver's license, so that you can also perform activities at customer locations.

Education & certifications

To be able to work safely in our warehouse, you possess the following certificates. If not? Then you can obtain these certificates at SGS after you have started working.

  • Vca certificate
  • ADR awareness certificate
  • Forklift certificate

Furthermore, the basic training consists of an IATA DG course and an IMDG training.

The role

The Sample Management and Dangerous Goods Services department is responsible for shipping dangerous and non-dangerous substances by road, sea, and air transport.
Our expertise lies in the logistical and administrative handling of shipments containing dangerous goods. We offer, among other things, transport support, prepare shipments for transport, and provide advice to and maintain contact with transport companies, laboratories, and customers. We do this together with 98 colleagues from our locations in Schiphol-Rijk, Eindhoven-Airport, and Spijkenisse.

What you'll do

As a Dangerous Goods Specialist, you are responsible for the administrative, operational, and logistical activities surrounding the preparation of shipments containing dangerous substances and goods. You will get a job where you alternate physical work with office work; the distribution of this is approximately 60% operational and 40% administrative.

You will work in the Sample Management Dangerous Goods & Cargo department and provide advice to our customers.  You will have customer contact via email and telephone, and additionally, you will regularly coordinate with drivers and colleagues.

What else you are going to do when you come to work for us as a Dangerous Goods Specialist:

  • Receiving and checking incoming goods and dangerous substances
  • Packing, labeling, and shipping goods
  • Preparing transport documents
  • Inspection and handling of shipments on-site at customers
  • Issuing quotes
