The role

Do you want to work in places where others never go? And do you want to be trained as a specialist in air emission measurements? Then this is your start at SGS.

Within our Industries & Environment business line, we perform air emission measurements for industrial clients throughout the Netherlands. We measure what is actually released from chimneys and installations and help companies comply with laws and regulations. As a Junior Measurement Technician, you will start in an intensive work-learn program. In approximately 1 to 2 years, we will train you to become an independent Measurement Technician. During this period, you will work closely with an experienced buddy and learn the trade step by step in practice.

What you'll do

You will be involved in the complete measurement process under the guidance of an experienced colleague:

• Preparing and checking measurement equipment
• Setting up measurement configurations at industrial locations, often at height and outdoors
• Performing emission measurements according to applicable standards and protocols
• Registering and checking measurement data
• Securing and sending samples to laboratories
• Supporting the processing of results in reports

How you'll work

Your workday usually starts around 07:30 AM at the office. Together with colleagues, you will travel to various measurement locations. This could be a refinery in the Botlek, a power plant in the east of the country, or a manufacturing company where specific emission measurements are required. Regularly, you will stay in a hotel for 2 to 3 days during multi-day projects.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following

• You are curious and eager to learn
• You enjoy working outdoors and are physically active
