Operator

• A completed Vapro B or Maritime Officer (Marof) education;

• Knowledge of technical systems, installations, liquid bulk products, and their specific properties;

• An active attitude towards safety, quality, and the environment;

• Experience in the petrochemical industry is a plus;

• You enjoy working outdoors and in a full continuous 5-shift rotation (2-2-2 system);

• You want to continuously challenge and develop yourself

• You have a good command of the Dutch language and preferably also of the English and German languages.

About Evos Amsterdam West: Evos Amsterdam West is a highly modern terminal for the storage and blending of all kinds of fuels. The products are supplied by and delivered to ocean-going vessels and inland vessels.

The terminal plays a crucial role in ensuring supply for Europe and the rest of the world and actively develops sustainable product streams as part of the energy transition. We have approximately 80 employees at our terminal in Amsterdam West.

About the role: You are the first point of contact for our organization for external parties. You are representative, possess extensive knowledge of procedures, and know how to maintain an overview. You know how to execute and monitor the correct course of operational activities based on received instructions and work orders. Naturally, you do this in compliance with applicable environmental, safety requirements, and regulations, and you ensure fast and efficient service both internally and externally.

As an Operator and Loadingmaster at Evos Amsterdam West, you will work in a 5-shift rotation at a highly automated, state-of-the-art terminal that belongs to the top of the international tank storage industry. You will work much of the time outdoors and get to know the terminal well. Once you have mastered this, you can further specialize in the control room, where you can demonstrate your analytical skills.

Your core tasks and responsibilities are:

• Receiving ocean-going vessels, contractually coordinating what a ship may and may not do, and reviewing safety regulations and loading and unloading procedures;

• Completing ADN, ISGOTT checklists, and loading and unloading agreements;

• Unloading and loading ocean-going and inland vessels;

• Performing and recording inspection, measurement, and sampling activities;

• Performing and recording measurements (gas, explosion, oxygen, etc.);

• Identifying and reporting defects and malfunctions, performing 1st line operational maintenance;

• Visually inspecting barges, tanks, pipelines, and hoses and identifying deviations;

• Taking and visually inspecting product samples according to guidelines and procedures;

• Ensuring the isolation of parts of the installations for maintenance work;

• Emptying pipelines and installations, such as pigging and stripping pipelines;

• Performing various actions including butanization using trucks, connecting & commissioning vapor recovery equipment, draining water from tanks and draining/emptying product lines and pumps, and activities related to water management;

• Carrying out Emergency Response (BHV) tasks;

• Performing various administrative and control activities.
