The role
Nice to know (you)
- At Schiphol, every repair is immediately visible: what you do today is used by thousands of travelers instantly. You work in a varied, practical way, right in the middle of the action. A dynamic you won't find anywhere else.
- The team is known for its close cooperation: you are never alone. Colleagues approach each other easily, tackle jobs together, and think along. Everyone helps each other move forward, especially during busy moments.
- From traveler to employee: we find it very important that everyone feels safe, valued, and welcome at Schiphol.
Connecting your world
As Assets Supervisor, you ensure that small technical problems are solved quickly, safely, and neatly. You keep our buildings running by tackling malfunctions immediately and collaborating well with colleagues and operations. How you ensure this? That is up to you. We rely on the way you show courage and trust in your own abilities. You will apply your talents to:
- immediately solving small technical malfunctions and repairs, such as basic electricity, light carpentry, simple plumbing, and general building maintenance, so that facilities remain safe and usable for travelers and colleagues.
- identifying damage, risks, and unsafe situations during your rounds and reporting them immediately or tackling them yourself, so that problems are prevented early and buildings remain neat and safe.
- working closely with onsite teams and our technical control center, the IACC, where you assess reports, coordinate priorities, and ensure that malfunctions quickly reach the right party or are solved immediately.
- keeping the work environment organized, clean, and safe, by tidying away cables, disposing of waste, and checking small facilities, so that processes run smoothly.
- switching flexibly between different jobs and locations, while maintaining an overview in the bustle of the terminal and operational buildings and ensuring that you always work safely and carefully.
You are helping to build a relatively new team that operates early-late shifts and, with the extra expansion of the team, will soon operate 24/7 shifts. You work in the middle of the terminal and operational buildings and tackle small repairs such as re-hanging ceiling tiles, tightening door hardware, tidying away cables, and testing sockets. In the short term, we will expand this set of tasks as a team. You will work closely with the IACC and contractors, see immediate results, and receive the space to develop technically and help build new ways of working.
