ANIOS Cardiology

As an ANIOS Cardiology, you will get the chance to delve into all facets of the specialty. You will work in cardiac monitoring, emergency care, and the nursing ward. You will learn everything about ECG, myocardial infarctions, resuscitations, heart failure, and other cardiological issues in a dynamic working environment with short lines of communication and good supervision.

From day one, you will be paired with an experienced AIOS, who will guide you through your first steps on the ward. This way, you will quickly and safely learn to work independently, including during shifts. Additionally, you will be given space to participate in scientific research and can benefit from the daily education within the team.

And extra nice! The Thorax Centrum arranges housing for you and covers these costs for the first six months.

Do you want to continue in cardiology afterwards? Within the Thorax Centrum, there are plenty of opportunities for growth: from research to direct entry into the training to become a cardiologist.

You will be working within the Thorax Centrum Twente (TCT). The TCT is one of the largest heart centers in the Netherlands and provides top-clinical care to people with complex cardiovascular diseases. The Cardiology department consists of a driven team of 21 cardiologists, 12 AIOS, and 4 ANIOS. The working atmosphere is collegial, open, and focused on collaboration. You will work closely with colleagues from other hospitals in the region (ZGT Almelo/Hengelo, Deventer, Apeldoorn) and with the University of Twente, including in the field of innovative research.

• You are a (nearly) graduated general practitioner with an interest in cardiology

• You are eager to learn, ambitious, and enjoy working together in a close-knit team

• You do not need to have a PhD; we primarily look at your motivation and commitment

As an ANIOS, you work within a specific medical specialty, where you gain targeted experience. When care requires it, you can also be deployed flexibly within other fields. In this way, you develop both in depth and breadth to become an agile and valuable physician.
