The role

What your day looks like?

Yes! Your Software Engineer candidate just called you to let you know that they have accepted your offer. What a great way to start the day!

After you have opened your laptop and grabbed a coffee, you are ready for the first meeting of the day: the daily stand-up. You have a busy day ahead with a nice combination of HR and recruitment tasks and tell the team all about it. After the daily stand-up, you check and update the jobs email inbox. Next, you log in to Workable (our ATS system) and begin screening all the candidates who have applied for various positions within Lan Handling. There are a number of great profiles and, to get the ball rolling, you send them a link with which they can schedule themselves for a video call, the first step in the application process.

Wow! There is one Hardware Engineer profile that really stands out. You don't want to miss this opportunity and therefore you have decided to call this person immediately. You have a good conversation on the phone and succeed in scheduling them for a first interview with the hiring manager tomorrow morning on-site; fast and efficient—that is what gives you energy.

It has been a busy morning and it is time for a break. It is a beautiful day outside, so you take a walk with your colleague Megan. After the walk, you get back to work and prepare yourself for the next part of your day.

Now you are going to focus fully on HR. You begin by further developing the onboarding for our new employees. You ensure that all practical matters are well arranged and that every new colleague gets a pleasant and professional start within LAN Handling. In addition, you work on our EVP and employer branding. You think about how we want to position LAN Handling as an employer, how we can better communicate our culture and core values to the outside world, and how we ensure that current and future employees know what LAN Handling stands for. It is a beautiful combination of organizing, creative thinking, and making a real impact on the employee experience.
As the day comes to an end, you have one more activity on the agenda: a recruitment update meeting with Sven, our Engineering team lead. You generate a report from Workable and together you review the latest updates for the open vacancies within Engineering. You discuss the progress, the candidates, and which actions are needed to find the right people for the team. It is a good and valuable meeting and a wonderful way to end the day.

How you get things moving

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience as a recruiter;
  • Completed HBO/WO degree;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written;
  • Experience with and a network in a technical environment is a plus.

We offer

An entirely new supermarket experience. Huh, what?! Really. As soon as you come to work at Lan Handling, you can never do normal grocery shopping again. From that moment on, you turn cans, jars, and meal bags around everywhere. Just to check: yes, we also handle this product with our machines!

  • This position is for 20 hours per week (office hours). How you distribute these hours throughout the week is flexible and you can largely schedule them yourself.
  • Enjoy an informal and helpful culture in which colleagues support each other.
  • Earn a salary between € 4,000 and € 4,500, depending on age and experience, and on a full-time basis;

  • An annual profit sharing scheme. Because we work from the idea that we do it together and everyone contributes to a positive result for the organization, you benefit from a financially successful year for the organization.
  • A good travel allowance.
  • Go driving a Trabant, go on a tandem to the Trappist monastery, or shine during one of the other fun activities organized by our staff association.
