The role
Your week as a Mechatronics Field Service Engineer (Europe)
No two weeks are the same in this role. One week you are supporting customers remotely from home, while the next week you are traveling through the Benelux to maintain advanced LAN installations, troubleshoot faults, and optimize performance.
Your week often begins with assessing incoming service requests and preparing for customer visits. For instance, a customer in the United States might be experiencing issues with production line software, while another customer is preparing for a scheduled maintenance shutdown. You set priorities, study technical documentation, and ensure you have prepared everything for a successful execution of the work.
When you are not on the road, you provide remote support to customers. You connect to machines, analyze software, troubleshoot faults, and help customers minimize production loss as much as possible. Thanks to your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems, you know how to quickly recognize problems and determine the right solution.
A large part of your time is spent performing on-site work at customer locations. During these visits, you carry out inspections, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and implement machine upgrades. One day you are replacing mechanical components, while later in the week you are implementing a software change or investigating an electrical fault. The variety and challenge of working on complex automated production lines gives you energy.
As the eyes and ears of LAN in the field, you continuously signal opportunities for improvement. You share recommendations with customers and provide valuable feedback to the Service and Engineering teams.
It is precisely this combination of technology, travel, independence, and customer contact that makes the role of Mechatronics Field Service Engineer so interesting and challenging.
How you bring movement
- Experience within a service organization in mechanical engineering or experience with industrial automation.
- Knowledge of servo drives and robot software (such as KUKA, FANUC, and ABB) and knowledge of PLC programming (such as Siemens, Rockwell, and B&R).
- Knowledge and experience in analyzing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems (such as Isah).
- You possess competencies such as customer and service orientation, decisiveness, problem-solving ability, sense of responsibility, and independence.
We offer
An entirely new supermarket experience. Huh, what?! Really. As soon as you start working at Lan Handling, you can never shop normally again. From that moment on, you'll be turning cans, jars, and meal bags everywhere. Just to check: yes, we also handle this product with our machines! But, of course, that is not all.
- A work environment full of opportunities to further develop yourself. Good idea? Training wishes? Discuss it with your supervisor and get to work.
- A workplace to frame. With delicious coffee.
- Flexible working hours, so you can make time to exercise, for your hobbies, or simply to take your children to school quietly in the morning.
- In addition to 25 vacation days, you also receive 13 ADV days. So you have plenty of time left to do more fun things alongside your work.
- An annual profit sharing scheme. Because we work from the idea that we do it together and everyone contributes to a positive result for the organization, you benefit from a financially successful year for the organization.
- Go driving a Trabant, go on a tandem to the Trappist monastery, or shine during one of the other fun activities organized by our staff association.
- Delicious Brabant treats when someone has a birthday... or when we have sold another cool project!
