The role
This is what you will do:
As a Wellbeing Officer, you ensure that our residents experience a pleasant, meaningful, and appropriate day every single day. You look at the person behind the dementia and have an eye for what someone can still do, what someone enjoys, and what suits them.
You organize and facilitate pleasant, creative, and meaningful activities. Think of listening to music together, exercising, playing a game, walking, being creative, or simply having a cup of coffee together. You encourage residents to participate, but you also respect it when someone has no desire to do so at that moment.
Your work goes beyond organizing activities. You have an eye for the atmosphere in the department, make time for personal attention and a good conversation, and signal what residents need. You can respond well to unexpected situations and changes in the mood or needs of residents.
You work independently, take initiative, and maintain an overview of the wellbeing offerings. In doing so, you coordinate closely with the care team, colleagues, and volunteers. You coordinate the deployment of volunteers and guide and support them during activities.
You also participate in the location's Management Team (MT). Based on your expertise, you contribute ideas on how we can further strengthen and safeguard the wellbeing of our residents.
Depending on your education and experience, you are prepared to take on other supporting tasks within the location.
This will be your workplace:
Hofje Hoogvliet is a modern and atmospheric location where residents with dementia live. In 2027, the location will be further expanded to 60 comfortable apartments, which are fully designed for modern care. The environment is bright, spacious, and warm, offering plenty of opportunities to create a pleasant living environment together with residents.
With us:
You work with residents with dementia and focus primarily on what someone can still do;
You get the time and space to give residents truly personal attention;
You organize and facilitate activities that align with the interests and possibilities of residents;
You work independently and collaborate closely with the care team, colleagues, and volunteers;
You coordinate and guide volunteers in their efforts for our residents;
You contribute to a warm, safe, and homely atmosphere;
You get the space to independently shape the wellbeing offerings;
You contribute ideas regarding wellbeing policy and participate in the location's MT;
You work at a modern location that is ready for the future.
No two days are the same. One resident may enjoy music from their youth, while another may specifically need a walk, a conversation, or a quiet moment together. By getting to know residents well, you discover what someone finds important and what makes them happy. In this way, you make every day a little more beautiful.
This is you:
You are warm, patient, empathetic, and involved. You make contact easily and can intuitively sense what a resident needs. You believe it is important that people feel seen, heard, and safe.
You can work independently, take responsibility, and have a good sense for organizing and coordinating. You maintain an overview, can plan well, and take initiative. At the same time, you are flexible and know how to switch gears effectively when a situation demands it.
You are creative in devising activities and can adapt these to the possibilities, interests, and needs of residents. You enjoy working together with colleagues, volunteers, and other stakeholders, and you know how to guide volunteers in a pleasant and clear manner.
Experience with people with dementia and/or a relevant education in wellbeing or care is a plus. We find affinity with dementia care, wellbeing, and personal guidance to be at least as important.
You do not only look at what someone can no longer do, but precisely at what someone can still do and what brings them joy and satisfaction.
Good wellbeing care sometimes requires looking at things just a little differently. Are you a rule-breaker who sometimes colors outside the lines? Then you are a good fit for Humanitas.
This is what you will receive from us:
At Stichting Humanitas, we believe it is important that you can do your work with pleasure and confidence. Therefore, you can count on a meaningful position, good employment conditions, and the space to continue developing yourself:
An employment contract of 24 to 36 hours per week;
Preferably a trial period, during which you are responsible for the wellbeing of our residents together with a colleague;
A position in which you truly get the time and space for personal attention;
Plenty of freedom and responsibility to independently shape the wellbeing offerings;
A salary and employment conditions according to the CAO VVT, matching your education, experience, and the position;
8.33% end-of-year bonus;
Attractive employment conditions, including a bicycle plan and collective health insurance;
Space for personal development and training;
A modern, atmospheric working environment that is constantly developing;
A dedicated team in which collaboration and personal attention are central.
