The role
This is what you will do:
In this role, you combine nursing care with guidance and support for complex behavior. You are visible on the work floor, participate in daily care, and help colleagues to understand and guide residents with dementia and complex behavior as effectively as possible.
You look beyond the behavior and try to determine what need, emotion, or experience lies behind it. You observe behavioral patterns, signal rising tension, and think along about appropriate interventions to prevent unrest and escalations as much as possible.
Within the residential groups, we work with group-enhanced care: extra attention, guidance, and expertise for residents who need this. You support colleagues with complex care and behavioral issues, coach them in daily practice, and contribute to the implementation and development of group-enhanced care.
Together with colleagues, psychologists, specialists in geriatric medicine, other practitioners, and loved ones, you work towards a safe, warm, and meaningful living environment. You provide input for care plans, behavioral analyses, and evaluations, and actively contribute ideas regarding the quality of care.
This will be your workplace:
De Leeuwenhoek is located in the center of Rotterdam and offers a multicultural living and care environment for residents with dementia and complex behavior. You work with residents from various backgrounds, life stories, and care needs.
With us:
You work with residents with dementia and complex behavior who require extra care and guidance.
We work with group-enhanced care for extra peace, structure, personal attention, and safety.
Together with colleagues, you look at what lies behind behavior and how you can respond appropriately to it.
You coach and support colleagues with complex care and behavioral issues.
You work closely with psychologists, specialists in geriatric medicine, practitioners, and family.
You contribute to behavioral analyses, care plans, evaluations, and quality improvements.
You receive training, peer review, and coaching in the fields of dementia, complex behavior, and group-enhanced care.
You are given space for your own initiative, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
You work at a unique location in the center of Rotterdam, easily accessible by public transport.
At De Leeuwenhoek, quality of life is central, even when residents require intensive guidance. From person-centered care, experience-based care, and positive health, we constantly search for what someone needs to feel safe, trusted, and seen.
No two days are the same. By truly getting to know residents and supporting colleagues in their actions, you contribute to more peace in the residential groups, appropriate guidance, and an environment in which both residents and employees can develop.
This is you:
You are empathetic, connecting, and stress-resistant. You are good at observing, analyzing behavior, and translating your insights into appropriate guidance and interventions. You remain calm in challenging situations and know how to positively involve colleagues in a different perspective on behavior.
You have experience with dementia care, psychogeriatrics, or complex behavioral issues. You enjoy coaching colleagues, sharing knowledge, and working together on the quality of care. You feel at home in a multicultural environment and have an eye for different backgrounds, life stories, and needs.
You think in terms of possibilities and solutions and like to take initiative. You are methodically strong, but also know when to adapt to the situation and the needs of a resident.
Good care sometimes requires looking just a little differently. Are you a rule-breaker and do you sometimes color outside the lines? Then you fit well at Humanitas.
This is what you will receive from us:
At Stichting Humanitas, we believe it is important that you can do your work with pleasure and confidence. Therefore, you can count on good employment conditions and the space to continue developing yourself:
