The role
What you'll do
As an occupational therapist at Stichting Humanitas, you help clients to function as independently and meaningfully as possible in daily life. You work independently, but you are never alone. Together with clients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, you look for solutions that fit their situation and possibilities.
You work with diverse target groups and support needs, ranging from psychological and cognitive issues to physical limitations, rehabilitation, and long-term care. You work both via Direct Access Occupational Therapy (DTE) and by referral.
You observe, analyze, and advise, and you translate your findings into practical treatment goals and interventions. You combine your own expertise with the knowledge of colleagues within the multidisciplinary team.
You work within primary care, geriatric rehabilitation care (GRZ), and the Long-Term Care Act (WLZ). You visit clients at home or at one of our locations and look together with them at what challenges they face in their daily functioning.
For example, you can:
Provide treatment for energy management, cognitive issues, or psychological complaints.
Guide clients during their rehabilitation and return home.
Assess lying and sitting positions and advise on pressure ulcer prevention.
Indicate assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, and teach clients to use them safely.
Support with transfers, getting out of bed independently, or the use of a mobility scooter.
Advise caregivers and healthcare professionals about appropriate support.
You coordinate regularly with nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, caregivers, and other practitioners. Additionally, you report, consult with colleagues, and contribute to the quality of care.
