Are you someone who sees compliance as an opportunity, not an obligation? Someone who looks beyond the law at how HBM can distinguish itself as a brand?
This is a role with a lot of ownership. You independently determine what our products must comply with, you decide what is required for that, and you see the results of your work directly: products that customers throughout Europe can trust blindly.
And you go beyond the legal minimum. You help build internal HBM standards that set the bar higher than regulations require: manuals that are clear and on-brand, packaging that is consistent in language and appearance, and product requirements that keep our suppliers sharp. In this way, you turn compliance into a quality mark that distinguishes us from the competition.
You work daily with sourcing, quality, and commercial departments, ensuring compliance from the very first moment in the product development process. And because HBM is growing rapidly in Europe, with thousands of products under its own brand, your field of play grows with it every day.
You independently determine which EU laws and regulations a product must comply with and translate changes in regulation into concrete actions at an early stage.
You compile and manage product files, including technical documentation and Declaration of Conformity (DoC).
You coordinate sampling and testing programs at external laboratories and assess the documentation and test results from suppliers.
You monitor that compliance requirements are included in quality controls, both in the factory and upon arrival, and prepare claims in the event of non-conformities.
You contribute to internal HBM standards for manuals, packaging, and product requirements, in close cooperation with sourcing, quality, and commercial departments.
As a Product Compliance Specialist, you are used to taking initiative; in addition:
You will receive a varied job at a fast-growing, internationally oriented company where you make a real contribution to further professionalization. In addition:
A one-year contract with a view to permanent employment.

We are HBM Machines. For more than 50 years, a trusted brand for everyone with a passion for craftsmanship. From a tool shop in Gouda, we have grown into the place to be for everything in the workshop. The ambition is high and we continue to grow online; you can also find us in Belgium, France, Austria, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
With more than 9,000 products, we make solid tools and reliable machines accessible to everyone. We do this largely under our own brand HBM, through direct cooperation with producers. Because we maintain control over selection and purchasing ourselves, we safeguard quality and keep prices sharp. And we are proud of that.
At HBM, we love clarity: no fuss, just good gear at a fair price. Because when your workshop works better, everything works better. Our cultural values are therefore 'we grow, we demonstrate craftsmanship, and we make it fun'.
